Hi everyone, I am having 2 final exams next week (masters program) and I had a very heavy brain fog that I could not study well for 10 days, but I resisted and my control on not looking at sexual content had been amazing in a way that I was proud of myself.
But today I have been so sad that I could not study due to this heavy brain fog and I replased (I still had very good control of not watching sexual content).
I used to watch 2 3 hours of porn everytime I wanted to masturbate but this time I put an alarm not to exceed 30 minutes.
So my question is how far does a replase of 30 minutes PMO put me back ? I was in a 26 days of streak btw.

All the way back. Sorry but it’s true. A whole half hour of watching porn? Even if you went 6 months I would imagine it would set you back all the way.

I would agree and say that it sets the healing your brain has done back to day 1. How ever you have gained experience living a PMO feee life. You can learn from this relapse and carry on

As long as you don't do it again and can get straight back into a streak don't worry about it so much.

Your streak is back to 0 but your progress is not. You went 26 days, that's 624 hours without it then you viewed it for 30 mins. Think about it..

Others on this forum are way too harsh on themselves and I believe this is what leads to more depression and self loathing. 26 days is a great streak, now do it again and you are on the road to recovery for sure.

With that mentality, people would never cure themselves of this.

At the end of the day its about weakening those pathways to porn. Any attempt to engage in PMO behavior will set you back significantly in terms of rewiring and to say otherwise is just kidding yourself. There is no point in sugar coating a relapse to make yourself feel better about yourself. There is also no shame in a relapse. A fuck up is a fuck up, we can accept this and move forward

I agree with you because after a day of PMO Im still having the same dopamine withdrawal symptoms like brainfog, no concentration, and etc
I feel so much different than a month ago, I used to surrender to PMO too quickly but I feel more control over it now.
I was a little disappointet yesterday but Im feeling good now and ready to continue.
    Thanks for the support.

based on the feeling I have rn, I dont feel too much pushed back because I still have the same dopamine withdrawal symptoms as on my streak and I think the effect was minimal.
    Thanks for the support.
