    Agreed.
I could understand it more in a few months when the virus is at its peak with millions infected and countless thousands dead in each country, but it is dismaying at this early stage.

Mwah, I think you already gave an answer to your own question. If you know what is coming, why take the risk of waiting to buy supplies if you can do it right now while you have the safety that there are enough products.

The way I see it, there will be enough supplies throughout the next few months. I do not see a reason for panic. In China, no food shortages were reported. This is a respiratory virus with most people getting no, or mild, symptoms. It is not a product distribution issue. There is an epidemic of hysteria IMO.

I think if we wait another week, the stores will all be restocked and there’ll be no one in them.

Disgusting behavior of people I have seen lately concerning Corona, makes me think that we deserve to go extinct.

Seems to me like the corporations need to be held responsible. I know it's hard to enforce but I'd like to see qty. limits imposed.

    Stay positive and healthy All.

Another item on the national news tonight:

People have been stealing hand sanitizers from hospital wards, endangering medically vulnerable patients! o_O How cruel! :(

Stocking up on toilet paper in preparation for isolation has no logic to it. It’s purely panic purchasing, and people wanting to feel like they are being proactive in preparing. But think of it this way: If you’re going to run out of toilet paper, the best place for that to occur is in your own home. Why? Because you can hop into the shower and wash your asshole if you need to. Problem solved!

I read a great joke about why there is such a "need" for toilet paper: "If one person sneezes, then 20 people around him will s**t themselves". :D

Since hand sanitizers are being purchased at an extreme rate, in India some companies started creating fake hand sanitizers.
Recently an industrial oil manufacturing company started manufacturing hand sanitizers just 10 days back.
Unfortunately there are many other companies doing the same amidst the corona virus panic.

  13. I think that's kind of silly... I mean there's no need to buy like 20 packs of tp, but one extra pack is probably a good idea. Sorry, I don't want to have to hop in the shower every time I go to the bathroom when I could just buy an extra pack of tp and use that.

I myself buy allways a big 24 or 32 roll pack when its on sale. And that amount I can use for a very long time. I bought one in last year november I quess, and I still have more than half of it left.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying we should all just shower ourselves instead of buying TP:rolleyes:. But when I see folks in the markets buying enough TP to last a decade, that’s an overreaction. The whole shower comment was just putting logic in place of fear. Like saying “C’mon people. Why is TP the #1 panic-purchase? Even if you run out, it’s not the end of the world.”:D

Its because most of the people are dumb herd of sheeps. They do what they have been told by the media or some "know it all" friend. They dont use their brains to think. Everyone is a specialist about the virus nowdays. And when they go to eat, lets say a fast food restaurant, they dont even wash their hands. But lets buy effin toilet paper and pasta in insane quantities.

And the worker in cash registry touches your hand when money changes owner. There are hundreds of hands he/she touches daily.

Yes, my parents are going into a period of isolating themselves (as much as they can). My Mum said to me that during one of her last shopping trips, she actually ended up feeling a lot better about things, being out and about and seeing that everything carrying on as normal, 99% of people being nice and polite and no mass hysteria or diseased people marauding about. But they are retired, and are glued to BBC News all day. They are going to be in a blind panic for the next few months, convinced that there is a mad hoard of diseased zombies outside their door ready to attack them if they don't stay inside glued to their TV all day.

I'm going to make an effort to ring them every other day during this, try and stop them going nuts!

  19. Some places do have quantity limits but when family of 4 comes and each buys tp separately then the limitations have no use.

  20. My state only has 33 confirmed cases of the virus. No deaths and one person has already recovered. Also no confirmed cases in our town or county. Yet everyone is losing their minds. All stores are out of stock for toiler paper, cleaning supplies, most canned goods, and frozen food. It's gotten so bad that the grocery store my significant other works at is getting security implemented starting tomorrow. They are afraid of riots or shootings. It's ridiculous!

I get stocking up on some things. There's a high risk that my place of work will shut down (we get our products manufactured in China / Asia), and I will be forced to work from home for a few weeks. So I bought enough food to get me through in case that happens. I didn't panic shop though. Just bought what I needed.

This is starting to get out of control. We should be looking out for each other and helping those more vulnerable to the virus (the elderly, large families, etc). Instead most of the population is greedy and hoarding everything for themselves. It's sickening.
