I am from India and 17 years old (yeah I put my wrong age in profile details...)I just can't control my addiction to play games I am preparing for a competitive exam and if I did not study my ass off I wont be able to get through it when I used to attend my coaching classes I had enough pressure and motivation to study all day long but with this lockdown going on I have lost all my momentum and motivation being all day at home. I want to study but I can't. I daily download a new game and waste 1/2 days in it, uninstall it, feel depressed, next day install another game and repeat the cycle. My competitors in my coaching and obviously in the whole country are getting ahead of me. I throw away all these feelings and facts when my addiction triggers me to play games . I am really frustrated I feel like I am worthless, I will never gain anything just becoz of this addiction. I am also addicted to porn and masturbation but it does not waste too much of my time as gaming does so it's not a very big problem. Does someone suffer with same problem here? Please suggest me what worked for you I would be very grateful. Thankyou for reading.

Find a hobbit you can do in your spare time, so you do not go gaming out of boredom.

I am 27 years old from China. I have been addicted to games for 10 years! The serious consequence is: I have nothing now. I regret not using this 10 years to improve myself. Brother, hope you don't like me

A radical solution: sell your gaming device(s).

Guys who suffer from (P)MO addiction can't get rid of their genitals. You have the opportunity to withdrawal from gaming by just getting the equipment out of your sight.

Agree, sell your gaming devices. Whether it's a gaming console, or you game on your pc. If you game on your pc, take out the GPU and sell that lol.

What solved my gaming addiction was when I moved out to go to university, and did not take my Xbox with me. Then when I graduated and came back home, I got a job with a long commute that I did not have time for gaming.

But my gaming device is also my academic partner. I can't afford to lose it... And while this lockdown is going on it is really helpful in my studies.

I guess you will only need to run programs like Word, PowerPoint etcetera for your studies. That doesn't require a high-end pc. Sell this one (or sell parts like the videocard) and convert it to a work pc.
