My thought process being a mess and my long-term memory almost non-existent, I circumvent that with writing.

Hello, I'm Uneven and I pass time reading auto-biographies from nobodies / average Joes at online forums.
    Fun stuff, I know.
Also, I'm not that old if you're becoming suspicious I might be currently selling candy near your local bush.

The logs I get out of my way to actually read treat the superpower theme with less frequency but much pertinence and emotional investment.

    • Reasoning on posts that states superpowers are predicament of those who once were out of touch with reality
I have two opinions regarding that, which might curiously contradicts themselves. The long, more dense one goes like this.

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

    Circle of Impact

It starts with the comfort zone talk. The ones hooked in self-development methods love the topic. I wanna start with the following statement:

Right, right. Bit of a stretch so let’s get to it.

A basic assumption I could make is that when we’re in pain, our senses are focused on mitigating whatever survival threatening factor that happens to persist. Furthermore, everything else above this level of complexity, often managed by the pre-frontal cortex, is pushed to the background.

When one begins using PMO to medicate, things go south on a biological level.

The longer we stay in that state, that is, afflicted by some physical strain, the longer the mind spends time devising a method to deal with the nuisance, more we lose track of what surrounds us, helplessly grasping for a solution inside a second world where we have more control over things, the inner world.

My guess of one process that comes as repercussion is that the subjective age of the person gets extended, leading to a greater sense of responsibility for both mistakes and accomplishments.

On extreme cases, seeing yourself at the cause-effect center, surrounded by nothing but chaos, all patterns of victimhood and blaming start to lose importance, inattentively fading to the corners of their identity.

It doesn’t matter anymore who caused what. Finding an applicable course of action, deemed as worthy of countermeasure, should be the place where we spend our mental energy.

Effort -- in proportion to potential -- use it for your next equation.

    Tweaking Physiology

Byo: Greetings everyone! Back when I was 5 I found my true calling at knowledge seeking.
't was but a joke, my colleagues, a rather poorly-written one.

    Anyways.
There's an interesting component for the scientific junkies out there that I advise deepening understanding on.

    ► | Delta | Fos | B |

Enough already of sounding smart, the important stuff to know is, if you spend enough time denying PMO then rewiring must come as the next step. The science for that revolves around the brain’s everlasting urge for novelty dimming down and letting you enjoy the “mundane” once again.

When that delta-sucker fades from key chokepoints, pardon my French, your system can now begin installing the useful stuff.

It happens that your brain has been conditioned to work a certain way, precisely through the behaviors that solidified your current habits.

The final product is a pleasure seeking machine.

How to revert that you ask?

Looking at some reports, one could say treating it like a spoiled brat for a certain amount of time would be a reasonable approach.

    How long?

Long enough for it to kneel before discipline. Trusting the process of reboot while depriving the candy. Only then chemistry makes the miracles take place. Once these pleasant neurochemicals happen as sub product of meaningful activities by how a human really should operate in a context of scarcity, you allow it's toys back.

Through reinforcing a healthier, functional pattern, the mind becomes something useful for navigating the currents of an engaging life. Tuning it with the right resources produces a surge of energy that enhances our drive to develop out our potentialities, which means, enabling a mindful nature that is guided by efficiency.

The dopamine junkie persona, always craving that next hit when he finally gets home from work, finally gets put on a leash.

By seeking what further increases his chances on succeeding at the game of life, one can fill his living with better problems.
(No idealization of a problem-free life allowed!)

Introduce a compound interest approach and the pay off will surprise you each and every time.

Woah! Let's hope I didn't lose anyone with that last one.

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬↓▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

    The Sum of Parts

Same Guy: You see gentlemen, you become what you eat.
No, I'm not going there and I won't change my mind even if you beg for a slice of nutritional knowledge.
    [Ahem!]

Diet is pivotal in rewiring the reward system. You see, nutritional, calorie dense food wasn’t such a commodity back in the days of hunting and gathering so effort spent on the wrong places meant certain death.

→ You’ve got to teach your body to think that every pleasant activity, be it internet browsing, music, junk food are in shortage in order to make it easier to re-modulate the old ways.

Pick a Lion in the African steppes, it hadn’t had a meal for 3 whole days, it’s senses are already thrown into disarray after long hours of stress listening to his nagging wife and lack of rest. (Living things get irritable if there’s no fuel for functioning, dummy. It’s a defense mechanism that turns on the aggressive side in order to assist acquiring the prey.)

The only thing keeping it grounded is the possibility of surviving through this very day so as to perpetuate it’s most preciosity.

If you guessed offspring, well, yes but actually no.
Paying attention to newborns is too much of an investment for Joffrey here to be actually worth his while. Genetic code influence is the unsettling game changing motivator. Roughly speaking there's this programmer that installed the L.I.O.N. software with the primary function of overriding the recently downloaded D.E.A.T.H. program. Legs, claws and teeth enter overdrive in such situations.

Back to the hunt analogy. Both in front and behind he sees choices. First he can go after a single sickly gazelle, barely hanging on to life, fearfully aware of it’s surroundings. On the other.. urhmm.. paw, he has to pursue of a group of healthy ones, distracted by a newfound water place and pretty birds. You get the jist.

Having in front of his eyes the solution to his problems, his system becomes overloaded with chemical encouragement! Now, in hindsight, even if Felix gets to kill the sickly one, it won’t amount to feed his pack for very long, soon he’ll need to engage in a second hunt on the same day. It knows that if his effort isn’t well spent, things could get even hairier.

Being bigger not always implies survival, so let's not swing our big dick accomplishments in the face of everyone when it happens. The fittest of an environment should have the optimal size in proportion to prey or food available. Calorie expense -/- consumption play a big role for every animal. With humans, a few variables change but the fundamental concept stays. We must learn how to judge the value and energy expense of that which is worth seeking.

    The Underdog Tale ↔ Revamped

    Back to the success stories.

The protagonist always confidently states that there were no superpowers involved when they made the decisions which led them to a better place.

How could that be the case?

How come the utterly defeated managed to win, against all odds, reaching the top he always considered unattainable?

Maybe that’s where myths and legends find inspiration fellow romance enthusiasts!

A legendary tale of a lost chosen who traveled through the depths of The Underworld and, after coming back to the mundane, accomplished “superhuman” feats, deemed impossible by his prior kinship.

In modern slang, resetting the circuit of his mind back to factory settings opened up used space, optimized basic software, deeming him worthy of being called the hero of his own story.

I should write some sci-fi with that one.

Now, for our next voyage, picture a fapstronaut, injured by his own indulgent tendencies and deprived of the enjoyments of a life of normalcy.

Ain’t becoming stronger when the grip of addiction most damaged him a supernatural achievement?

Let me extrapolate for a second here.
My depicted, pseudo-scientific analysis would imply that when already bleak circumstances threaten to become worse, instinctive▬primal strength, otherwise suppressed, seems to flow through our mindless bodies.

    Taking action becomes almost automatic.
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    CONCLUSIONS

I wanted to illustrate that dreading this hypothetical scenario engaged a panic mode that brought me to fight back.

It turns out that the actual superpower was the act of transmuting fear and possibility of regret into willpower and drive to do hard, but rewarding stuff in the long run. The hard part was envisioning the good that might never come if I tango'd with weakness for too long.

Some recollections on pain and misery ingrained in my essence that attempting to escape from struggle only deteriorates the already bad.
That sounded way better in my head, I swear.

He who runs towards the fire, gets the storm to subside. Fuel being consumed right away rather than gradually seems unusually preferable.

Pick your poison, some would say.

When the flame finally extinguished, everything turned dark.

When I got accustomed to the burning wounds, self-reflection provided clarity to what I deemed worthy of struggling for. At first, the shining light of paradise was too bright for my eyes to handle.

Could be that why the defeated can’t follow "proper" guidance?

The maddening sickness taught once one tastes the consequences of immediate satisfaction and atone for mindless desire, only then starts true understanding of how outranked are the common hurts of a featureless existence.

Choosing and carrying the burden one considers valuable, travelling through the roads of eventful enterprises and all encompassing boredom, that yes, THAT is the path that leads to heroism.

  8. It's no secret or exaggeration that freedom from porn addiction certainly enhances the quality of one's life. But to turn a man into a beast? Come now! That's reverse evolution shiz right there!

Content wise its a good post but if your main idea was to help people understand what is happening to them, you should seriously consider writing in simple english or explain every sentence u just wrote.
I know my english is not that good and to make it worst most of us here is suffering from cognitive issues.
After reading through few pages of a self-help book im already exhausted.
Dont get me wrong, its very well written but i couldn't make it through all of it without getting agitated.

One of my goals is to explain but it's not the primary one. The writings are product of a mix of 2 of my issues.

My thought process is hard to verbalize. I don't feel words are enough so I have to use a variety, some even less known by the public, to paint a picture that satisfies me.

The other is that I dislike giving finished information. Give fish to a man and you feed him for a day and so on. Info dumps like these have no meaning if it makes perfect sense now but the more complex contents will be forgot the next day. At least, like this, I can think that I made them doubt and question something.

It gives me a sense that they might structure their own line of thought instead of copying mine. My conclusions can be wrong, you know? I don't want to sound like my way of understanding is THE way of understanding.

Thanks for the input. I'm always looking to polish my works.

Im not here to talk my way into you. You have the rights to do whatever you want. Information can be transferred in a lot ways and it can be in all sort of forms. In my point of view, i prefer information being properly transferred and understood. Maybe thats why they decided to name it nofap forum and not Shakespeare's last will i guess.

i think artists produce art because of the art itself, bringing across information and feelings is not the main reason for him creating this. the facts that he states can all be found listed in a scientific manner on this forum already, he just added some paint onto those black on white writtings, and as he said, his conclusion can be wrong, since he is not a scientist.

    Thanks for the time invested.

I hope I can keep driving away the people who are only after a quick fix.

The forum would benefit a lot more from the ones who stay, which are actually willing to leave their naivety at the front door and step outside their circle of comfort.
