    Hello Fellow Fapstronauts
I am not able to hold after 5 days. Which is achieved in a struggle itself. When I do achieve the 5 days mark, I relapse so hard that forget loosing I go negative the progress I made. I am student, and we all are stuck in self-quarantine which invites indulging in the digital world and eventually falling hard due to relapsing.

I did hear about the Dopamine Detox but I believe I can't go all out hardcore. Anybody who is following the detox and gradually increasing their difficulty, I can easily go through the detox of staying away from digital means for a day though.

Also, the most important part is how do I cross this 5 day mark and extend it to 10 days? Shall I increase exercising to two times a day that did make me feel good.

  2. Take a look at this chart on things you must do to reach each milestone. These are my notes on a YouTube video by Universal Man/Mark Queppet. So far, the chart has proved true for me, and it makes sense. If you are looking to take your reboot to the next level, check out Universal Man's stuff. He also has a "Man of Action" series which is on the dopamine detox (long term not short term) and has general life improvement content. Cheers.

Hey buddy tell yourself its okay, you're only human, the best thing to do which I've found really helpful is just distracting yourself rather than focusing on your journey divert that towards other productive stuff. By the end of the day you won't even know where that 5th day went. Best of Luck buddy:).

Honestly, what might help is different for everyone. There are a ton of different methods out and you should keep trying something different whenever you feel stumped. Tbh, you should remember to give yourself some credit for even reaching 5 days, my hurdle is 3 days haha.

Here are a few tips that I personally found to be helpful:
    1. track your current streak with a timer and record your high score(max no PMO streak). I find phone widgets to work best for this. On my homescreen, there is a timer labeled "high score: 3 days 1hr!" counting 19hrs 43min so far.

    2. Give your addictive urge a name, talk to it, and treat this like a game. When your big hurdle comes, adding that competitive desire to win or resist against someone else will prove helpful.

    3. Keep trying for 1 more day. At day 5 when the urge is heaviest, then keep repeating to yourself that you only need to hold out for one more day. You can try the same at day 6, but if you happen to relapse at day 6, then at least you made it past 5. Basically, keep trying to increase the time between each relapse by at least one day.

One of the secrets is to always log onto NoFap before you search porn hub.

Look at your streak and find victory in it. Look at how close you are to your goal. If it feels far, set a shorter goal.

It's always better at night to go to sleep when you find yourself having urges and weird behavior

I also really recommend Universal Man by Mark Queppet, especially his Man of Action series. I made good progress by establishing a little ritual where I would pause from life to watch one of his videos with no distractions and write a couple sentences in a journal about what I thought and how I'd use his suggestions for around 30 minutes per day every day for around one to two months. I'd also log my progress every day with a points system.

I think the most important thing is to have a system that you can follow (emphasis on the fact that you can follow it!). It can involve journaling, maybe a daily run, lifting, accountability partners, etcetera. I used to be in the same boat when I was just trying to follow a strategy of not jacking off every time I got the urge, which is not really a strategy. I thought that I shouldn't need a system because if I couldn't get by without one I was mentally weak and that would mean I was bad or something like that. Honestly, I think you need to realize that parts of your brain are both psychologically and chemically/physically literally compromised. You need to create a system for yourself that can use external cues and all the weapons you can get into your arsenal to make progress. Also understand that you will fail and it's not your fault—this does not make you a bad person, and because your mind is weak and compromised by porn, your system has to start small until you have the requisite habits to go further—if you have too much to do you might fail and then blame yourself.

I too couldn't push further than 8 days. making it to day 7 was a a whole nightmare by it self. but my view about P changed drastically when I read this amazing quote, Different actions produce different results. after thinking about it for a while I applied it to my daily life, and one of the different things I did was joining the matrix group, I posted daily just checking my progress, and was able to make it to 12 days without PMO and with little to no effort. truly just try as many things are you possibly can. It find what works and what doesn't for you!

  11. Yeah. It's about problem solving, meaning you solve it yourself, seek external solutions, etc. And you gotta be creative and think outside of the box. You also must be aware of yourself, your tendencies, your urges, they're causes, and such. Think about these things, and journal them if you are struggling to remember.
