    We all have discussed about what are the triggers that cause us to relapse. What are the factors which make us fail everytime we make a strong commitment. But there's not enough discussion about what factors drive a person into Porn Addiction for the first time, especially when many people remain free from it. We have a good opportunity to discuss it here.

    Boredom
    An emty feeling inside
    Abuse by peers
    Depression
    (Bipolar) mania
    Anger (and no means to act it out)

    Maybe- too much curiosity about sex and sex related matters and also curiosity about the mentality of girls......
    Frustration
    Easy availability of P/internet and device
    I'll add whatever else comes in my mind

    Boredom and depression are big ones for me. Also places can trigger me which is embarrassing.

    A few more:
    Mental illness
    Childhood abuse/trauma
    A coping mechanism for something: could be stress, pain etc.
    Genetics play a big role in addiction too

    - lack of real life intimacy so resort to fake intimacy on porn
    - being bored
    - when i was sad or angry i'd edge to porn so my focus was only on those hot women, yet soon after i finish, guilt would take over me for hours or a whole day. so basically for temporary pleasure

    some people may use it to discover what they like in terms of sex (can be dangerous, as can make u addicted to unwanted fetishes)
