I think if you peek, something nobody would recommend of course... is not a reset.
A reset is when you just mo. Pmo is a relapse.

The likelihood that you will look porn up again has increased. So a relapse can be round the corner.

  4. You watched 5 minutes of porn. Bad boy. But you aren't going to hell and you are not a terrible person.
You want that regret out of your life. So give yourself a good talking to about your habits. Make up your mind to be a bit tougher, a bit stronger.
Porn relapses/resets always happen when I am feeling too casual about my recovery. I get too confident. I think, oh, 2 minutes, so what?
It's bullshit. You are just feeding the monster. Even 30 seconds is too much.
Get serious and start again. Worry and shame will do you no good.

Yes that confidence trap... I get too casual about my recovery too... yesterday I relapsed mainly because I got too emotional about things in the past, that resurface after a few days. Also the lust that resurfaces. That one is so hard to resist for me.

If you think it could be a relapse, it is a relapse. If you are ashamed, then it definately is a relapse. The idea of nofap is for you to stay away from it cause its no good.

Even Watching a GIF counts as a relapse. Be true to yourself my friend, do not fool around. Your brain craves it and your duty is to trick your brain into replacing porn with New habits. Stories, picturs, GIFs, always lead to porn eventually_ you have to train your brain that PMO is not even an option. You can only do this by creating new habits. It can be as simple as cleaning your place or going for a 30-minute run everyday.

  12. I think everyone has a different point of view, it really depends on you. Some may call it a relapse others a reset, it is up to you.

However, it is playing with fire and if you don't stop, you will most likely relapse. But I think when you watch porn even for less than 5 minutes you still get dopamine hits and like your mood and energy go down.

just control yourself and don't watch it again

  13. Don't be so hard on yourself. Look on the bright side, you didn't masturbate and orgasm. That's an achievement. But it's really not a good idea to watch porn. Even if it's for a few seconds, because although you are able to resist this time, the next time it won't be easy. You will most likely binge. Although you feel bad, don't make yourself feel too bad because if you don't feel good about yourself, it'll weaken you and you'll have less strength to resist your urges.

I feel like you can somewhat tell how damaging something was based on how it felt.

So say for instance someone looked at porn for a few minutes and got no sexual excitment or arousal at all and then turned it off. But then say somebody looked at porn for 5 minutes and got super sexually excited by it. I feel like the second one is going to be much more damaging than the first.

Or say you got an alcoholic that took one sip of beer and then realized what they were doing and stopped it. Is that a relapse? Or even say an alcoholic drank one beer and then realized what they were doing and stopped, is that a relapse?

I think it would more be a relapse if the alcoholic just decided to keep drinking. I think it would especially be a relapse if the alcoholic returned to their old behavoir.

I personally don't think peeking at porn for a few minutes is a relapse even if you get sexually excited by it. If you get sexually excited by it and still manage to turn off it off then that actually takes great strength.

I feel like if you looked at porn and basically got no sexual excitement or arousal at all then I would actually question if that would cause any damage at all?

Even if you started masturbating to porn for a few minutes and you weren't enjoying it at all and you decided to stop. Is that even a relapse? I honestly doubt someone would of done much damage from that.

I honestly think you can somewhat tell how damaging something was based on how it felt. The higher the level of sexual excitement, pleasure and enjoyment the more damaging it is, and the longer the duaration the more damaging it is.
