It’s been a little over a week since my first post here. I’ve managed to avoid any actual porn in that time, and I told my girlfriend about my addiction. She took it fantastically and is being very supportive in helping me get through this time.

I’ve been filling my time with learning as much as possible. I’m trying to develop new memory techniques (my memory is terrible) and I’m diving further into the subjects I’m taking in college than even what they’re teaching. Despite it being such a small amount of time, I’m feeling a bit better. I believe it’s just due to not numbing my brain by surfing for porn for an hour or two (sometimes longer.. sometimes MUCH longer) every day. It’s a sense of clarity and because I’m keeping my brain working with school work I’m noticing my train of thought is much better.

I look forward to seeing where I am in a month from now, and look forward to taking time to be more active in this community.. Well. There’s my update. I hope everyone is doing well during these interesting times we’ve found ourselves in.

Good to hear. Have you taken critical thinking yet? One thing I'm doing is not surfing in general, saves a lot of time even if it is with stuff that doesn't involve porn. Ironically I may still surf a little at work but that's limited for obvious reasons and certainly not porn, mostly a little news and checking out deals. Just watched a TED talk on Youtube and skipped the comments..

Definitely! I'm attempting to lower my screen time significantly on my phone (where I would usually look at porn and other useless things) and use my laptop and just read books more often. Great point!

Good luck dude that's great. Its easier, but also tougher to battle this in a relationship. Do it for yourself mostly!

Now that she knows though if you struggle, she's a woman and she'll probably wonder if she's good enough etc. You could have a difficult road. However its a worthy one! Best of luck.

  5. Good luck! A month's not much, give yourself a year to see something really interesting happen.

Yeah yeah... not everyone can think that far ahead. I would be on top of the world if I made 1 month also... have to make baby steps, I (others) foolishly got addicted man.

But you're right, the longer you abstain, the better results you'll see. I'm sure that's accurate. I just exercised before bed. Does that boost the disappearance of the negative effects faster you think?

  7. Well it will release good stuff inside your body, make you look better in the long run and thereby enhance the quality of your life in many ways. So the answer is a resounding yes.

Thought so!! I broke a sweat so its always good to hear again though. Maybe when I hit flatlines (usually when I relapse) I can use exercise to get me through it this time, thanks.

Hey thanks again for the honesty and the post man. I don't know how long you have been fighting this, but gear up! In my experience it can get difficult. Like I'm 30 and single, but its all good, I know I am talented, handsome and even fun to be around if I am my true self and I am happy for what life has for me next. I'm determined to dig out of the hole also!!! Cheers!
