Absolutely. If you go long without eating you will be more susceptible to urges. It’s important to keep your blood sugar from dropping. I try to eat carbohydrates every 2 hours whether in the form of fruit, potatoes/sweet potato and maybe some gluten free grains. This provides your brain with adequate glucose.

Another important factor is getting enough sodium, potassium and magnesium for your brain. This helps your neurotransmitters function. All helpful in maintaining control of your mind and staying grounded. I’m not talking about sodium from refined salt either. The sodium your brain needs is in things like celery, spinach, and seaweed.

Many other factors at play.. diet is essential.

For me its important to not overexagerate and become addicted to junk food. You should eat a lot but try to eat healthy things and most importantly many different things. You cant just eat the same stuff and expect to feel good. Eat vegetables and healthy stuff, but also eat a lot of meat, proteins and healthy fats. I had experiences where i ate a lot without even noticing and tho this isnt a problem because im actually underweight, it took away my energy made me feel sloppy and gave me urges. Its also a motivational thing, think about it, If you eat something shitty youre more likely to think, i already fucked up, i might as well fap. But if you eat something good and healthy you will more likely be motivated to do other things that are good for you such as not fapping. I think the habbits are like a compound effect, the more good habbits you have and the more often you do them, there will be more other good habbits that will come to you.

Over maybe a couple of years I've gradually reduced the window of time I eat to 8 hours, comfortably. I also eat at the same time.

Contentwise obviously quality matters, as far as supplements go I'm wondering if people who take a B complex have found the need to have more in this stressful time.

I noticed eating fast foods definitely increased the urge to watch porn. So don't eat that garbage.

The gateway for me, too many times, has been alcohol. The chain goes something like this:

    1) A drink or two (a couple of beers and/or cocktails)
    2) Pig out on something carb and fat heavy (half a pizza, a couple double cheeseburgers or a whole Pancheros steak burrito w queso when I usually only eat half at a time)
    3) PMO

So yeah I'd say you want to not let yourself get too hungry but you also don't want to go the other direction either. In my case it's like my brain says, well you already gave in to two vices so why not go for the trifecta?

I don't want to sound too skeptical here but eating several times a day, especially fast carbs (in the form of whole-grains, bread and even gluten-free starches) will just keep your blood-sugar and insulin levels high all the time which is not the best approach if you want to live healthily and avoid developing metabolic syndrome in the long run.
Instead, try some IM-fasting and limit your meals to no more than 1-2 per day. Delaying the hunger and avoiding the blood-sugar drop is easier than you think if you just eat food that doesn't spike your insulin and blood-sugar. By eating veggies (especially green leafy ones), cabbage, certain fruits, nuts, seeds, whole fat dairy, high quality animal protein and other fat and nutrient rich foods (unprocessed ones of course) you will feel full the entire day and not feel the need for eating more than 1-2 times/day.

I don’t buy into the starvation, carbs are evil diet. Every cell in your body runs on glucose, especially your brain. The body is meant to be fed, not starved. Yes, fatty foods will fill you up. Too bad they aren’t good for your body.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with triggering an insulin response all throughout the day. So long as you’re mindful not to eat your carbs with fat. Fat in the blood is what causes insulin resistance. Go ahead and check out mindful Diabetic Robby. Reversing type 2 diabetes in people with ease, and requires hardly any insulin for himself as a type 1 diabetic eating 800g of carbs a day. Mostly from fruit. I never said eat bread.

  9. My advice:
    -healthy diet
    -avoid sugar & salt
    -cold shower
    -meditation
    -read 5 to 10 pages
    -workout.

I never said all carbs are bad (complex carbs found in veggies and most fruits are not for example) but by eating pasta, white rice, and wheat/grain products daily , you become carb-dependent which is not desirable and not the natural healthy state for any human, regardless of race/ethnicity.
Isn't it better and healthier being able to take from and run on your fat-reserves instead of which you have tens of thousands of calories available? Rather than feeding your body carbs and/or fast carbs every other hour?
That's one of the major reasons for why people worldwide have been developing metabolic syndrome (with all its symptoms) for the past four decades. That, combined with the fat-scare and fear-mongering propaganda (from scientists like Ancel Keys) against saturated and fats found in high quality fish, meat, poultry, butter, lard, coconut oil and whole fat dairy products. Trans-fats on the other hand, have rightfully been demonized which I thinking everyone can agree on.

It is the heavy processing and replacement of the fat with sugars, artificial sweeteners and additives that have made people sick, not the natural saturated, mono-unsaturated and poly-unsaturated fats found in whole nutritious and unprocessed foods.
Fasting doesn't necessarily equal starvation since it has many proven benefits, the main ones being cleansing your body from toxins and waste-products and fighting inflammation. It is also the natural state of human kind since that's been part of daily life for its entire existence until the last 100 years when breakfast was invented as a marketing tool for Kellog's and other manufacturers of breakfast-cereal.
Until WWI, food was scarce all over the world (apart from the weakthy) and people were eating whenever they got hold of something edible, which could have taken a few days (or more) in many cases.
Eating 3+ times a day is a vey modern invention indeed that comes with an abundance of food and that is not in accord with human biology at all since it hasn't changed for tens of thousands of years.

I can also strongly recommend Dr. Sten Ekberg and what he has to say about the matter regarding diet and fasting:

I think you’re not quite aware of what most people eat. Nearly everyone on the planet eats a diet high in fat. Sure, they eat many processed carbs like you mentioned, but they still eat plenty of fat. Unless you’re vegan, you eat a high fat diet. Though many vegans still eat high fat. All meat is fatty, even “lean” meat. If you eat meat 3 times a day you’re on a high fat diet. Everywhere you go you will see the processed carbs combined with fat. French fries= carbs +fatty oil. Burger= bun+fatty meat. Chicken and rice. Steak and potatoes. They’re always next to each other. Which is what causes insulin resistance and diabetes. It’s pretty well known.. look into it. Take away the fat and you’re no longer insulin resistant. So to say that the carbs are the problem, is simply not accurate. No one eats a low fat diet.

2 large fatty meals a day is the last thing you want to do if trying to cleanse and detoxify. You don’t understand the physiology behind fat consumption. It’s a huge burden on your body. Most people are walking around with rotting rancid fats caked on the walls of their intestines. Your livers main 2 functions are detoxification and producing bile to digest fat. If you constantly have your liver pumping out bile, it has no chance to detoxify. Fat thickens your blood, which limits the flow of oxygen. This is why it’s not better to run on calorie dense fat reserves.

We have completely opposing views. I agree that those processed carbs and sugars you mentioned are not healthy. Which is why my initial comment listed fruit, sweet potato, potato squash and gluten free grains. I don’t even eat gluten free grains myself. But for someone starting out I recommend it. However, I do not think over fats are beneficial in anyway. Omegas are about the only beneficial thing regarding fat, which doesn’t require much to get.

really dude? Breakfast was an invented marketing tool? So you think it’s a good idea to fast for anywhere from 6-10 hours overnight while you sleep, and then fast some more? There’s a reason people eat first thing in the morning. Dude, all herbivore and omnivore animals eat all day long. I don’t know why you think humans are any different. If you want to eat like a carnivore that eats an entire animal in one meal and then doesn’t eat for days, be my guest.

People are metabolically ill and sick these days due to too many fast carbs that comes from mainly wheat-products, white rice, added sugars (sucrose, HFCS, corn-syrup, etc), added sweeteners (aspartame, saccharin, xorbitol, xylitol, etc) that messes up the hormonal balances and hormone secretions secretion in the body.
Visceral fat inside your organs is mainly not formed from fat but from fast carbs that are metabolized into fat by the excess insulin that is spiked by fast carbs in the first place.
When saturated fats are either processed or consumed together with fast carbs the insulin levels will rise and much of the fat be stored as fat.
How do you know that these metabolically ill people haven't been eating lots of processed junk with their meat and/or what the quality of that meat might have been? Is that mention in those studies? (the lifestyles of the deceased/ill).
Much of today's meat is of poor quality due to heavy processing with antibiotics, additives and preservatives which is more harmful and likely to kill you rather than the fat or the meat itself.

If breakfast and eating 3+ times a day is so important and not a modern invention (and long between meals and fasting is not the normal state throughout the history of human kind), how come human kind have survived long periods with food scarcity over the centuries?
Do you think 3+ meals a day something ordinary people could possibly afford at the turn of the last century (around year 1900) and before that? I'm quite sure that so many meals a day was a luxury dedicated to the rich and wealthy.
Just think about it, how did people live before the industrial age? I am quite sure that people ate whenever food became available and that might have meant going a few days or even a week or more without any food nearby.

Because when you think about it, if being without food for a few days or more is so harmful and lethal, how on earth could human-kind have still survived longer periods of famine until they encountered an animal or something edible?
If they would have lost all their focus, energy and strength throughout the food-scarcity and its resulting fast, then they would never have been able to plan, look for and find any food, then perish and become extinct in a very short period. Animals do eat whenever food is available (which can be a few times a day during summer) because during certain seasons because they have to build up some reserves that can last for the winter and long times of food-scarcity where their fat reserves are the only thing that can keep them alive.

Think about the logic you just presented. Because humans have survived food shortages and have been forced to go long periods without eating, then that’s there normal or optimal state of being? I’m sure the rich and wealthy were also much healthier because of that luxury. That’s probably why wealthy and healthy are nearly the same word. You know, poor people typically couldn’t eat healthy food either. Do you think we should eat low quality food as well, because some people had to throughout history? Humans have had to do all kinds of things to survive. Doesn’t mean it’s a healthy thing to do.

Try looking up the Irish famine that killed 1 million people. Perhaps they did lose their faculties and couldn’t find food, and therefore died.

Plenty of animals live in tropical climates that don’t need to store up for the winter. They still eat all day long. Typically the most well fed and largest animal is the most dominant as well. It’s an attractive quality to be well fed. You’ll notice people become unattractive when they get too skinny. It’s a signal not to procreate with someone who isn’t eating enough. I’m sure you’re eating enough, you just seem to think you’re doing some ultimate biohack by starving yourself for hours at a time. It’ll catch up with you in the long run when your adrenals burn out from having to compensate for your lack of glucose.

All of those things you mentioned are unhealthy, but they’re not the only cause of disease. Btw, no matter how grass fed free range organic your meat is, the animal will still have bioaccumulated toxins. Mercury in tuna is a bioaccumulated toxin. The larger the animal the more toxicity accumulated.

Of course it does. Eating garbage and stimulants like caffeine, sugar and alcohol make it a lot harder to stay on course. They also make your moods swing which is never good for a recovering addict.
