This was common for me during the first 30 odd days of my current streak. Now I'm on day 78 and I seem to brush off these images much easier. You'll get used to them eventually or at least you won't react as much to them.

Thanks again, please never underestimate how helpful these types of posts are to me and others.

One last clarification as I've seen it report several times, and your post insinuates it; does PAWS just suddenly melt over a week or so period at the end. I.e. it seems to slowly progressively improve over 18-24 months with a slow trajectory, and then suddenly just heals? Or was it a progressively better progression all the way to the end (linear)

Also just to confirm to others at 14.5 months the danger for me is whenever I start to feel better; the mind is so quick to forget about past suffering. This is ironically a danger point of relapse

Theres nothing to comment broski, glad that you had no repurcussions?

  6. Glad that I had no repurcussions? What are you talking about? I never said that.

  7. In my case, the reboot went linear and showed no sign of progress it seems. Then you could feel a big improvement out of nowhere. That may happen anytime in a journey. You could wake up feeling worse or better than yesterday. In brief, you never know the exact day or time you're going to get better. But it will happen eventually....

  9. Anyone have thoughts on why a 61 day streak might not have produced any less inflammation? Does it take longer for some people? Thanks.

Don Quixote quick question if you don’t mind bro ? Do you think n-acetyl-cysteine helps ? I’ve been on them for three weeks 1200mg per day mainly for some seriously intrusive thoughts which are driving me crazy at times and I’m only on day 2 of no pmo , also I feel like I’ve got that POCD tbh because of these worrying thoughts , any experience with that ? Also how long until nac should have an impact ? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply bro! These thoughts did come about a year ago and tbh when I go a couple of weeks without they get a bit easier but the last 6-8 weeks it’s been brutal like I’m thinking about some seriously sick stuff and I know that’s not me ! I’m truly terrified and hoping this subsides if I continue on this no pmo recovery , I understand if you don’t want to say what they thoughts were but if you do I’d appreciate it

Just a further thought - if you are still having sex, then in terms of physiology, there is still arousal, and any potential benefits from abstaining may not have a chance to happen. So maybe go hardmode?

May I ask what your list of symptoms / PAWS consisted of?

just a note on tinnitus/ringing in the ears. I started getting it pretty bad after starting nofap, though not straight away. Have pretty much had it constantly throughout my reboot but i do notice that it starts to fade as i go more time pmo free. It is something that is linked to your stress response and at least in my case i think it will fade.

Thanks for your response mate. It helps me a lot by seeing I'm not the only one dealing with extreme symptoms due to PMO.

Did you edge a lot during your pmo years? Like edging for hours and hours on end, in an almost trance like manner, before ejaculating?

  17. I still have tinnitus and ringing ears for almost 4 years. They come and go and seems to fade away slowly. Early years after a relapse, they seem to disappear but come back shortly on a streak.

I could say I've experienced 99% symptoms of paws mentioned by other rebooters on this forum. I used to scare sleeping with lights off back then even when it's on...
Symptoms I still have left tinnitus, brain zapping/fog, constipation, Hallucinations, Nerves tissues damages still repairing, insomnia or oversleeping, constant cracking noises in joints, feel like my lower back is paralyzed and so on.... These symptoms seem to improve gradually and slowly.

Wow, how long is your current streak?

  19. 2 months without mo as current streak
Longest streak was 16 months at the end of last year
It seems I can't let go of porn totally.

Yeah it's very hard. That's why it's called an addiction, because we often keep relapsing despite knowing the consequences..
Keep trying mate, we will get there

How did you experience those 16 months though? Did you get rid of some symptoms?
