well, that´s a long drop and technically you didn´t wear the ring of pmo.

how much time did you look at porn? if it was a couple of minutes, i think it´s not necessary to put you on orc rank, not at all.

well, what i recommend is to let stress be. allow it to be in your body without trying to change it, or supress it. just let it be, and the body will quiet naturally by himself. just don´t fight against it and it will pass on.

however if you feel stress is becoming overwhelming, you can try this technique :). i hope it helps.

well, a couple of minutes is not a relapse, a slip at most :). So you stay in your rank brother, it would be clearly exagerated to move you from position.

but what caused the slip that´s what you should be concerned. so try to see how you could manage anger and hurt in different ways. that´s a very important coping skill that any addict needs to develop.

One more day of paddling my brothers. Crossing the Argonath ;)

Let´s welcome the new member of the Fellowship:

    @dimk555

My brothers, i´ve been having a long discussion with one of my AP´s about one thing that i see is causing a lot of damage and relapses on many fapstronauts so i´ll try to explain it here also. I hope it can help you.

    “The time fallacy”

Many rebooters believe that rebooting is like climbing a stair. With time and perseverance we will get to the top with green plains and a blue sky. Well, the reboot is path upwards indeed, but it´s not a static stair. It´s a rolling staircase that´s working backwards.

This means you can only climb if you consistently work on your reboot, what i call the reboot work.

The reboot work means that daily you will do specific tasks to uninstall the pmo program that is dominant in your brain. The reboot work can involve various components:

    - Recall that you have an addiction

    - Recall your excuses to fap and answers to those excuses

    - Recall the rewards that you´ll get when free from pmo. Recall that you can be permanently free from pmo

    - Revise your triggers system

    - Stay accountable with the community and AP

    - Study on the subject of porn addiction

    - Etc…

This background work is what keeps sobriety going on.

It´s this work that makes the days go by without pmo. And it´s this work that will install a new program on your brain, which will uninstall the old one.

Time will not solve anything. If by any miracle, you live a couple of months in isolation, like in a monastery, and you did get out, probably one of the first things you would do was pmo. Why? Because your brain haven´t rebooted, all you did was "abstaining from" pmo during a certain amount of time. You didn´t develop coping skills for hard feelings, you didn´t create a better lifestyle, you didn´t challenge your beliefs in pmo, you didn´t study on the addiction and the reboot, you have no idea what your triggers are and how to handle them, etc etc

So during that time your body has rejuvenated but your mind hasn´t. It still has the old vice stick to it. And the mind is the living center of the addiction.

It´s the good habits and the reboot work that you do daily that debunks the pmo program from your brain. So understand that a day clean from pmo is not the same as a day rebooting. Every day that you don´t do your reboot work, the addiction gains ground in your brain again because the brain it´s configured to do pmo. It wants pmo.

Only a new program can uninstall the old one. And this is a progressive and systematic installation. So you can´t take a break from the reboot work. Never. Every day that your skip the reboot work you´re descending the stair. Everyday that you skip the reboot work, your commitment drops and hesitation increases, and from there the relapse is close. Many times we don´t even notice it, because all we feel is the side effects of the loss of commitment: the arising of hesitation and difficulty to shake off temptations.

The new installation needs a daily work, a daily dedication. So book a part of your day to the reboot, or else all you´re doing is “abstaining from” and sooner of later the old program will run you again.

  15. Thanks @RiseToGreatness for that post! Definitely, I think it's necessary to work on rebooting itself, and thereby replacing the bad with something good. It's something I lose sight of quite often when I solely focus on "being clean" as you wrote.

    Anyways, day 20 Hobbit :)
