Hey all. I was wondering whether people could diagnose me. I'm not sure how much my ED and DE is to do with porn or death grip. Also how bad a case is this?

Been reliant on PMO for 8 or so years, started young and didn't lose virginity until late. Did PMO on average twice a day (recently getting more extreme) - always lying on back using a fast but light technique.

    - Finally got a girlfriend.

    - First attempt at sex - I got fully hard during foreplay for about 5 mins then it slowly went down struggled with PIV and went soft. Made her happy then we gave up...

    - Second attempt (few minutes after first) - I took a ED pills - did its job I was a rock for maybe 30 mins - sex felt good but not enough to O and we gave up.

    - Third attempt a few days later almost identical to second attempt

So my question is do you think this is mainly porn related or death grip and conditioning? Like if a partner could ride me fast enough on my back it would be OK i think? I don't know if this a good sign but during foreplay I can get hard and i find it very exciting to be with a partner. And I would happily choose a partner over porn if they were next to each other. And yet... I cant seem to stay hard and suffer from DE.

Since this realization I've been on several 5ish day streaks and I'm trying to give up PMO.

So how bad is it? I'm hoping to get at least 14 days no PMO before we next try PIV

ED pills usually only work for mechanical conditions; i.e they work on your dick, not on your brain. So it may not be PIED. That said, temporarily abstaining probably isn't a bad idea just to be safe. If it's death grip you're suffering from, a reboot should cure that too, but either way it will probably take more than 14 days to heal completely. Maybe test things out every month until they improve?

Unfortunately, not a doctor, I can't write my name followed by PhD at the bottom here. This is just my anecdotal advice.

Had PIED too but ED drugs didn't help me. I failed even with ED drugs and realized they weren't making me hard. This is how PIED usually is. If ED drugs are able to keep you hard then its probably anxiety?

Interesting. Yeah I am able to get initially hard with a partner but can't stay hard enough to O. I am someone who suffers from anxiety and obviously each time I fail in bed I worry more next time. That being said from my attempts at nofap its pretty clear I am addicted to PMO as I keep relapsing around day 5-8. I hope I can abstain for a period of time before my next sexual encounter to see a noticeable improvement.

Addiction is a totally different beast than dysfunction. For addiction I would say you really want to avoid any sort of orgasm for at least a few months. I'm still not a doctor, but I have done a lot more research into this. Here's a video with some of the best arguments (although it does miss out some of the science):

Haha don't worry my friend I'm committed to stopping my PMO (even though I keep failing). I think in my case it may be a bit of everything. The porn, the deathgrip (conditioning) and the performance anxiety. Pills work well with me for my ED but not for my DE. Certainly its disappointing to be using them at my age and its not really fixing the problem just masking it. While I haven't let porn destroy other aspects of my life (good career, healthy respect for real women etc) its partially responsible for my ED and DE problems.

    At least I think.

Stay away from porn as much as you can..
I was in a similar situation about 15 years ago, but didn't know its porn related. Its probably pied with performance anxiety. And it will get better with abstaining from porn and keep doing it with a gf, when you relax enough, you will be able to orgasm. Just stay strong and keep away from porn.
ED pills probably help because you worry less will your dick work.
