Depression when not working out?

    I dont know why but this always seems to happen to me when i dont workout for a few days. Its kind of like the first day after the workout feels amazing but when i dont work out for 2 days i just get moody and depressed and i feel somehow shitty. I dont know if any of you have experienced this. I play soccer, go jogging, do bodyweight as well as other weight exercises and i noticed that when i dont train it has a really big mental effect on me. Do any of you guys know why this could be happening or has it maybe happened to you? Im on day 23 of nofap now and ive missed maybe 5-6 days of exercising maximum during this streak. I also believe it is one of the thing which has stopped me from relapsing, because i always exercise in the evening and then shower and go right to sleep, and i used to always relapse during this time before. I read that exercising increases your willpower and that could be one of the causes for this, but i dont know what other things are related to this or what other reasons this could have. I also wanted to ask you guys who also work out, how nofap has affected your workouts and how youve felt the effects of not watching porn. For me it has definitely had big benefits because i feel much more power in my workouts and i also have a lot more pain resistance and i dont get tired easily. Its kind of like when i wake up in the morning i want to get things done in order to get satisfied and working out is one of those things. I cant even explain this but its like i dont have other sources of satisfaction, except working out, learning, reading, going out, cleaning up and accomplishing stuff. I wanna ask you how you guys feel about this, as well as what are some tips that you could share in regards to this topic.

    I don't know much about why this happens, but I just want you to know that you're not alone. I train calisthenics, yoga and hand balancing, and whenever I miss my training because of anything, I feel really bad about myself. Training is something that I am addicted to. I don't need any motivation to train. I train because doing so gives me a huge dopamine spike. I feel really bad about myself if I miss even one day of training (considering I train 3 session in a day, one day is a pretty big deal for me lol). So don't think about it much. You should feel blessed to hate not to train in a world that hates training.

    Yeah i mean when i had an ACL injury i had to operate 3 times and i couldnt play soccer for 9 months, i was just depressed and hated everything, i hated school, my parents and was frustrated about it, thats how i knew that its caused by that. But now on nofap, when im on road somewhere for 2-3 days and cant train i just feel completely down.

    Bro, yesterday in the evening i had one of the hardest workouts of my life, it was like i was on fire, ive never had this kind of force inside me. After the training i just felt fantastic and now the depression is gone. Nofap really does give you strength and stamina and i never even knew i was capable of this.

    I too feel anxious and depressed when I don't do physical exercise. In the last 7 days I haven't done exercise and feelings of anxiety and depression have started to attack me. I am on day 62 and I had wet dreams on previous night and the night before with strong elections, I was in worry about two consecutive wet dreams but then I realized that my routine has changed for this week and I don't have worked out. Usually I take long walks, do push ups atleast 60 and 100 squats.
    Beside this I spend most of my time in reading good books and articles on LinkedIn in and Quora.
    But the main thing I have experienced to deal with anxiety and depression in this journey is physical workout.
    Congratulations on your streak. Keep going and make it your lifestyle.

    Yeah ive read this is a consequence of low dopamine, because our body naturally wants dopamine and exercise gives us that.

    Exactly, and if we don't continue physical exercise our brains automatically begins to Search for easy ways of getting dopamine which is going again to pmo.

    I mean i would suggest trying to work out because it is really healthy for you. If you have the time to just go jogging everyday or do push ups at home that alone can push your dopamine up and help you.

    Great posts, guys. It reminds me why I need to keep doing my morning routine of working out and Chi Kung. Physical exercises are vital for a sound mind!

    Endorphins? That has to do with the "consummatory" or satisfying pleasure, whereas porn has to do with the exciting pleasure.

    Yeah but for me because i play soccer i get the exciting please because i get the kicks of adrenaline everytime i play. I mean its somewhat of a wonderful feeling when the match starts and you play, its almost like everything else doesnt matter, and when im done i just feel satisfied.

    I hear you, friends. I've never been particularly good about exercising regularly until I started bouldering, so not being able to go to the climbing gym for months has been really rough. For those familiar, I told myself I was going to be good about hangboarding at the very least, but even that has been hard to keep consistent.

    Yeah the part when you're done is probably when the endorphins kicks in.
