If you can be addicted to porn is it possible to be addicted to sex?

    Hello,

Say you quit PMO, do a full reboot. You start having sex with randoms, girlfriend, prostitutes, having one night stands etc. where does this lead? Why are people able to have perverted sex with hot people from apps and not get addicted to sex? Trust me I am 100% sure of this. Most people these days are fairly perverted. I know one 15/10 woman that has been in many gangbangs, sex with strangers, watches porn (all admitted publicly through Instagram stories) and God knows what else she does yet she’s perfectly functioning in real life and is a paralegal. Another example this German couple I don’t know what it is with German people and fetishes. They are very perverted yet they are filthy rich and have tens of millions of dollars. How are these people so successful despite their behaviour? I don’t understand why specific people are chosen to be addicted to PMO but the rest of the population can PMO to their hearts content but not get addicted probably due to having jungle sex every night so they don’t really need it. Or they find daily life so enjoyable that they don’t need it. Is that why people get girlfriends/boyfriends/wives/husbands because the human sex drive is that carnal and uncontrollable? Better to have sex non stop than PMO and become a “loser” “beta” male “incel”. And once you get addicted to PMO you turn into a brain dead shit for brains loser that’s a non functional vegetable in real life and is too exhausted to function in life, while watching others succeed in jealousy and even after you quit porn you’ll never reach others achievements due to the damage from porn.

  2. I think it's about how you use it. As soon as you start using porn or sex as a coping strategy (against things like loneliness, childhood drama etc.) it probably will turn into a addiction and do harm. Well and some people don't use it as a coping strategy and therefore manage to maintain a healthy relationship with it. If you want to read more about sex addiction, I recommend reading the book "The Truth" by Neil Strauss. It's written in a funny way and provides a lot of knowledge about sex addiction and relationships while telling the personal sex addiction story of the author.

I think it's kinda the same thing with smoking, some people just smoke once in a moth when they're out with friends, but otherwise they don't feel the urge to do so. While people that use smoking as a coping strategy for when they're stressed or having a bad day, tend to get addicted.

So if PMO is your coping mechanism which is also an addiction, if you replace it with video games as a coping mechanism would it be any better if you’re trying to cope with an unbearable situation, or would that turn into an addiction too, the more you play the less pleasurable it is? Video games aren’t that rewarding as PMO.

  4. Well the right solution here is to find the underlying problems that cause the coping mechanism and fix them. I'm currently listening to the book Breaking The Cycle by George Collins on Audible. I'm not done with the book yet, however it already has helped me a lot in finding the underlying problems and fixing them. I learned a lot about myself and about the childhood trauma I went through, that I wasn't even aware of before.
And of course, Gaming is technically a "healthier" way of coping, as it's not a super stimuli like porn. However it for sure also isn't doing any good. The longer you try to run away from your underlying issues, the harder it gets to solve them. I recommend you also listen to the book Breaking The Cycle and start there, just give it a try. :)
Ps: I'm listening to it for free, as I did the free month on Audible and then canceled it. If you didn't redeem your free month on Audible yet, you can do the same.
