Everyone says 90 days is good to break the porn addiction, but what exactly happens after 90 days? Is it any different than 30 days or 60 days?

How has your life significantly changed after 90 days?

  2. None.

90 days is generalization. For some it takes longer, others shorter. Its based on your age and how addicted you are. Some research point that people under the age of 30 will take up to 6 months because they started with porn before they got to have actual real life sex. Others 1 year or more...

But its nothing concrete. Quit pmo if you think/ know you have an addiction and time will tell how long it'll take for you. Its an individual journey.

Its not like trying a 90 day streak is going to hurt you anyway so you might as well try it for you own knowledge.

It took my husband 120 days before we saw any changes.a lot more changes at 180 days, and now a year and a half later we still see changes/growth as a person.

A strict number of days would make sense if we were machines but human life is way more complicated. We don't have an exact map, more like verbal directions about there being a Main Street like 6-10 miles and a couple of side streets, spoken by a guy with an accent with a mask on. Also there may be construction along the way that he may not know about.

obviously 90 days can't cure our addiction completely..but if you follow a strict monk mode for continuous 90 days..you will definitely experience a significant positive change in you..from my experience i would say that we all should follow this challenge till the end of our life..coz in my opinion fapping is an unnecessary thing just like drug use..there are a lot of ways in this world to experience true happiness..then why should we chose a self destructive behavior for a momentary pleasure which results in long lasting depression and problems??

  6. I found the first 90 days not very difficult, but it probably helped that the world was not dealing with Covid 19. I relapsed soon after 90 days and it's been a struggle since then. I would only be thinking about managing PMO, not curing it. It's nice to see the day counter increase, but sometimes it just means I am one day closer to relapsing, unless I seriously change my behavior and thinking.

  7. When I got to 90 days, I was in a better place than before, but I knew I still wasn’t where I wanted to be. It was in the 120-160 day range that I started waking up and going through the day without thinking too hard about it all, as if this mode of existence was just my new normal, and a kind of peace and freedom was present. It was almost in retrospect that I would realize “wow I didn’t even think about porn today”. Of course there was and is still work to be done, but a new state kicked in during those months. So... 90 days is just a marker, but be prepared for not being completely transformed on Day 91!

At the end of the day they are just numbers. There isnt really a number. Changes will come depended on many factors and will be surely on different day than just 90th day. Going hardmode will do it (maybe) faster. Being a virgin with 10years of addiction will need more time. Im in the nofaprocess 3 years with many ups and downs and now in a 250day streak and still watching improvements in pied

Let's say you have been addicted to extreme porn for 20 years. Doing nofap for 90 days won't make any difference in your life. Your exposure to porn is the barometer here. If you been addicted for decades then you need decades to reset your brain into normal again.

So many people reported that their life changed after 90 days. It could be true because it's extremely hard for us to even reach 90 days and 3 months can bring noticeable differences in your body and mind. But still you need more time that to finally recover 100%.

Good luck on your journey. Focus on avoiding fantasizing and psubs. It helps tremendously

The 90 Days are actually just an eye opener. It is up to you what you want to do afterwards.

You are only fully healed when you decide to make a lifestyle of it.

The addiction stays forever in the back of of our heads but it goes more to the background.
Once you stop with Nofap, guess what happens. It all comes back.

Once you reach the 90 days than you should reflect your self. The past, present and future reflection and make your choice from there.

  12. How many people have lost weight only to gain it all back? Again, forget the numbers. Focus on making your life better.

You can also lose muscle mass or take a diuretic for losing the water in your system.

  14. I've considered myself to be fully recovered once i hit 180 days, while some would be healed at day 90 i was going through painful withdrawals.

Its just a generalization, for some its going to take less for some its going to take more.

I doubt there is any such thing as a "full recovery". I've been told by a doctor that once you become addicted to something your brain is rewired to an extent that you'll always crave the thing you need. Fighting back against the urges (I know that can seem impossible at times, urges are a big problem for me) is the only way we can stay on the road.

We might always be addicted but do you think the negative effects from the addiction can be cured in time?

Any type of problem will fade over time, the challenge is to keep it in the background and not to act on it. One of my coping tactics is to say this out loud if I get the urge, "Not today."

90 days are the first threshold and some of us have 3 or 5 thresholds, and some of us have 10 or 20 thresholds..

90 days for me was absolutely gobsmacking. I did not realise through out the process, but after looking back I noticed how much I changed. EVERYTHING. I highly recommend focusing on improving your life and circumstances in this time.
