Problems after 60 days

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jun 23, 2020.

  1. Hello everybody :)at the age of 19 I've decided to start my first nofap journey, so my current streak is more than 100 days. And I actually liked nofap before the day 60. I was full of energy, unlimited motivation, desire to speak with everybody, had everyday workout, cold showers, etc. But after 60 days of nofap, my superpowers started to decrease. So now I'm on day 110 and I feel like a real piece of shit. I don't want to do nothing :(. At all! Workout is very bad now, I feel myself so weak. I have no desire to anybody. Nearly everyday I'm experiencing headaches. My previous wish to become better version of myself has completely disappeared. Talking about urges, I don't have them at all(no desire to masturbate, no desire to have sex)
That's a total disaster for me. I want to become alive again, I want my feelings back, my desires and all other good things, that I've had.
I need your opinion about this. If anyone has the same experience, please tell, how did you beat it and what happened next.
    Thanks in advance

  2. Your superpowers? This wrong attitude towards something that should be normal you. But you propably hit flatline, it said to take over 1 year to completely get rid of flatline/post withdrawal symptoms. My advice: Just keep going you are an amazing human being and society should have more people like you. That being said maybe you should read some philosophy. I recommend stoic philosophy it has helped me just read Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius and Seneca. These ancient philosophers/philosophy helps you to become better in own life, this is not and academic study philosophy, but one you can use in your own life.

Everyone has periods of demotivation, weather you practise nofap or not. You cant feel upbeat 100% of the time, Its not normal.

One thing I have noticed after almost 2 years of no PMO is these cloudy periods dont last nowhere near aslong and my enegry levels bounce back alot quicker than the bouts of depression I would sink into while PMO'ing. 110 Days is an amazing streak, your over half way to 6 months. Thats when I really started to see the growth and healing kick in.

Have you considered that you might be suffering from depression? I'm no expert-just a guy who had a psychology major in college-but your lack of motivation, 'feeling like a piece of s---', etc. all has more to do with mild depression than anything that would be linked to nofap. (Note: when I say mild, I just mean that people don't realize just how severe depression can get at the far end of the spectrum.)

If you have the option, consider seeing a therapist. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right one for you. When I was a year or two older than you are now I went through a pretty deep funk. It turns out part of the problem was a thyroid disorder. Getting that fixed, plus the therapy got me back on track within a year and a half. It was definitely not a good time while I was living through it.

One technique the Rabbi's recommend is that when you're feeling blue, the best thing you can do to make yourself feel better is to help others in need. It proves to yourself that you have value, that you can make an impact. It sounds like that's what you need right now.

There are so many great ways you can chip in to improve the world, and fortunately you don't need Bill Gates/Jeff Bezos money. Here are a few ideas:
1.) donate blood-there are virtually constant shortages.
2.) register as an organ donor with the secretary of state
3.) register as a bone marrow donor
4.) Donate to an organization that digs water wells in Africa-millions die of lack of clean water each years.
5.) Volunteer as a reading tutor for immigrants
6.) Give money to an organization that promotes literacy for women in India
