Two weeks today. Feeling better after having some real struggles of the conscience.

Things I'm doing to help myself:
    - No phones in the bedroom. Don't even try to look at it until I've fully woken up.
    - One cup of coffee a day. Trying to get it down to zero, eventually.
    - Stretching and deep breathing exercises to start the day. Meditation, eventually.
    - Telling myself I'm doing my best while acknowledging there's still a lot of important to work to do. This isn't just 90 days, this is the rest of my life.

Have you read Your Brain On Porn by Gary Wilson? I read about half of it last night. It lays out the neurobiological mechanisms that cause PMO addiction, amongst others:

    - The "FOMO" and searching for new/more extreme content happens because of the brain's inclination for novelty seeking. This evolved to make us want to have sex with as many different females as possible, spreading our genes as far and wide as possible. Also called the Coolidge Effect.

    - Not even being into most of the P you watch is due to desensitization: your brain has become numbed by constant stimulation and needs something stronger or novel to become excited again. This also explains why some guys end up seeking out P that doesn't really fit with their sexual preferences and therefore repulses them.
A very harmful consequence of this is that females in real life cannot compete with the highly specific, extreme and "optimized" P content that we end up needing to O. Because of this, I've had the belief that real sex would never be better than PMO for the longest time!

    - The binging and edging happens because P, unlike some other "rewards" for the brain like food, does not make us reach a point of satiation (even after O); we can literally just keep going until we pass out. Our reptilian brain thinks we are doing the great by "impregnating" ever more "females" but our conscious mind knows that this is not the case.

So here we are day 3. Tomorrow I'm going to have a session with addiction therapist. I decited to do an extra step. I do loads of reaserch about PMO addiction but I think very often there's a need to get somebody to help you. Even 12 steps AA says that you need somebody to confess your problem to and to get some refreshment and help. Really looking forward to it. Time to take things seriously and start to live happier life! All the best lads! If anyone here going through therapy please reply. Thanks chaps!

Kudos for acknowledging your relapse and posting about it!

However, as you seem to keep relapsing after short amounts of time, I would ask you to consider changing the way you are approaching quitting PMO. It seems like willpower alone isn't enough to keep you from relapsing.

Have you considered taking a course like this (free one)?

    * Disclaimer: I have purchased the paid course by the same creator (Mark Queppet); it has been extremely helpful. However I don't want to be going on about this all the time because I understand that it might come off as disingenuous. I am not trying to sell anything to anyone here.. but I do feel compelled to make others aware of something that may be beneficial to them, as it has been to me!
