Why can some people fap and smoke weed and still be succesful

This society is unfair...
We just need to learn to cope with it, and perhaps, change it

 

Interesting question, I have also wandered the same thing. I think we should be careful not to compare ourselves to these people because at the end of the day we really don't know what is going on in their heads and in their lives. They may not be so well sort after as we think. If you ask any enlightened person, they will all say that sense gratification is an attempt to mask or escape some aspect of yourself. This is unconscious of course and takes careful insight to realize.

 

There is such a thing as high functioning addicts too. I'm not saying everyone who smokes weed and functions fine are necessarily addicts but I don't think how much money you make is necessarily a measure of whether you're addicted. But there are people who make 6 figures and have an alcohol (maybe also other drugs) problem. There are very expensive premier recovery programs where it's like Club Med or something and they may go through those multiple times. I wouldn't call that not addicted just because they are successful by monetary and career standards.

 

As an American I find this to be true, since we have congress that is elected and then they do nothing, but just turn down laws.
And congress is full of idiots(politically well behaving people, but who cannot do anything old men majority). I think american system needs reboot, like throw away any politician who has been working over 20 years and that will already get rid of some filth. Just like presidents can be elected for two terms, so why can't politicians have time limit. Since popularity does not mean person is smart, it just shows us that he/she(mostly old he's) are good speakers, but doesn't mean that people are fit to do decisions. I think there should be allernative way of electing people into positions of power and this way of election should have nothing to do with popularity, but still somehow keep the citizens of the country happy. Why exactly does popularity mean good decisions?

 

Such a nice thread. My opinion is that these people probably do better in certain situations like socializing for example as a defense mechanism, perhaps they are hiding something else? In our experience we probably (after smoking weed and fapping) just isolate as a defense and do better at things at home.

 

Spot on. There are so many people who have really good social skills that people find attractive. Some of these people cant be left with themselves. They seek some form of distraction. So they seem out going and happy ( maybe they are, not here to judge) but it is only one side of their image.

my friends comparing to others is good in some ways however I am i and you are you so our progress is almost always going to be different somehow even if it is a minor differnce
what matters is essentialy how the indivual is mentally everybody has their strengths and weakness heck even a weakness could be such that say a man is handsome has high income and is tall dark the whole nine yet he doesnt have a girl who is together with him for more than a few months regardless of how much he learns game, no matter how much he exists as himself.

 

I don’t think that fapping or smoking weed is enough to derail the lives of most people. People who are successful at life tend to not let things bother them. They just push forward and stay focused on their goals. Weed and pmo are just considered leisure activities to them.
