Before I relapsed a couple days ago, I made a list of things to help me this time around one of which was reading. I never read a book in my life!

Instead of spending money on P, I thought I'd invest £5 for a book. Currently on chapter 3, and I'm enjoying it. I've had urges throughout yesterday and today, but I've opted to pick up the book instead and read. Learnt a couple new words and understand meanings of words which I thought I knew but had no clue lol.

Even with lockdown I've been using the library's eBooks but also a free trial of Amazon's Kindle Unlimited. The most popular titles may not be part of that membership but there are still plenty of good titles worth reading, all for free.

Thanks for the tip, I only bought it since I wanted to get off the phone and laptop. Give my mind a break from all the potential triggers even if it is just 30 minutes.

Yeah there is that. eReaders like the Kindle that's black and white are pretty good, you can't really look at porn with it. I don't know how it is there but hopefully they open the library again soon, even with buying books you can save a lot on used books. The selection vary but prices are usually really low when they get rid of books here.

Oh, I don't know how many of the sellers are in the UK but there's a nice site bookfinder.com for hardcopies that may be hard to find, or if you want to find a used copy at a good price. One time I found a book at the best price including shipping from India to the US so you never know..

  5. I have bounced back to reading as well. I sometimes question what was I thinking letting reading go.

I'll definitely look at both the kindle, and the website. Thanks for telling me, if you have any book recommendations too let me know.

That's good to hear, we all come here for some support, tips, and guidance. Going back to what made you excited before this addiction

There's so much, I think we can probably talk more after finding out what you are interested in, and there are some book threads. I think a good mix of different genres is a good idea, I'm usually reading non-fiction but I think some good quality fiction is good too. I even bought a book on a modern take of a Greek myth on a female character that someone on Discord mentioned to mix it up a bit.

Well since it's my first book I wanted something I'd like. It's a non fiction 'The Silent Dead' by Tetsuya Honda. I was looking for another non fiction, probably based in Egypt. The Greek myth did grab my attention. I'll probably come back to this thread once I've finished my current book.

Yeah I'll tell you why I went with that book, which was Circe but a younger woman mentioned it, she had hit me up for a (only once) voice chat and I felt that was flattering, nothing sexual happened but the way I'm looking at it is regardless of age it would be interesting to read something a woman finds interesting and wrap my head around that.

  10. Reading is food for the mind. Enjoy :)

Libraries are great. You can meet some fine women there. :)
