I personally do not experience hocd but i'm sure there are users here who do! and even if i don't, i'd be happy to help out a fellow fapstronaut and support in whatever way i can!

  3. I recommend reading/listening book called "You are not your brain", it helps you to deal with many stupid things your brain sends you and I don't know why hocd would be any different.

Ok follow this method for dealing with the HOCD thoughts:

Axiom : All OCD thoughts are lies. OCD is an illusion created by a misfiring amygdala.

It's very IMPORTANT that you separate the HOCD from yourself and your 'brain' you say your 'brain' keeps checking itself but change that to the HOCD keeps making me check.

By externalising the HOCD it will make it a lot easier to deal with the thoughts and emotions the HOCD sends you.

How do we know a thought is a HOCD thought? Here are the rules if it meets any of these 3 it is an HOCD thought:

1.Does it cause you unease / anxiety - yes? Then it's a HOCD thought.
2.Does it appear more than once in your head? yes! it's a HOCD thought.
    3. Does it have the word 'if' in it - yes? It's a HOCD thought.

Now you know how to separate the HOCD thoughts from your own thoughts.

The next step is how to deal with them?

    1. Do not argue with HOCD thoughts - thoguht appears " Am I attracted to the guy? "

You anxious respose: "He is a little good looking, OMG! fuck that does that make me gay?" - This is WRONG and will make your HOCD worse!

The CORRECT RESPONSE : " Of course I'm attracted to that guy he looks great" - This is the RIGHT response because then your brain relaxes - and your HOCD loses it's grip on you.

You are in agreement with whatever your HOCD is trying to scare you with and thus it loses it's power.

Other very important tools to help you fight your HOCD: the more stressed you are the stronger your HOCD will be - stress increases cortisol levels - so you have to manage that
    - Exercise every day if you can this is absolutely KEY and will help you lower your cortisol levels and will help you overcome your HOCD.

Meditation - Meditate every day at least 15 minutes a day - this will help you put distance between you the OBSERVER and the HOCD thoughts - this will make labelling and dealing
with the HOCD thoughts even easier.

CHECKING is BAD and keeps your HOCD alive - don't check - CHECKING = REASSURANCE and the more reassurance you get the WORSE your HOCD becomes. So when you feel the need to check i.e. "Omg do I find that guy attractive? I should look at him again and check" STOP ! Stop Yourself! and reply in your head to your HOCD : " Yes, of course I find him attractive , I don't need to check , I'm gay and I'm ok with that."

You have to counter your HOCD this way , this will lower your anxiety , with PRACTICE eventually this will become automatic , you will calm down, and HOCD will be just a little game in your head, and you won't have to worry about it. The key is to LET GO, just accept the UNCERTAINTY. I know easier said than done but you can do this.
