    Guys.

    I am confused.

I want to hear from people who have done a reboot (90 + days) if quitting cold turkey is best or quitting PM) by doing MO and then gradually reduce MO frequency?
Which is the suitable approach for a PMO addict of 5+ years???

  2. Quitting is quitting.
You can't quit just a bit.
Personally I think that it is not about cold turkey anyway.
What I mean that I don't think that there's nothing wrong in keeping on MO if you really are able to contain yourself.
    Porn is the real enemy.
    My point is about quitting.
If your finaly goal is to quit both P and M, then you must quit both of them today.
Give yourself "space", will make you justify yourself, and you will never quit.
If you just want to live an healthier life, then maybe it's enough to quit porn and then maybe do MO 1 every month.
    Still, it is really risky.
Because it could lead back to P, and because you are never in control, and 1 in a month can be 2 in a month, then 3, then 4 and so on.
If you really want to quit.
Really quitting is the only answer. No shortcuts.
    The best of luck

Its like that old saying 'How many banks does it take to be a bank robber?' Quitting is quitting, you're either using PMO or not.

Some people here are actually masturbation addicts more than porn addicts. That may or may not be you. In that case you should definitely quit MO and you know it.

Regardless, imagine an alcoholic rationalising going to a bar and buying a drink by saying "I'm not actually going to drink it". Sure, this isn't actually drinking, but do you think he's going to resist for long? Furthermore, what do you think his subconscious intention is right from the start?

MOing early in recovery is basically putting yourself in the exact situation of your porn addicted self and expecting yourself not to use porn. It's beggars belief.

What's more, you're going to be reinforcing a lot of the neural pathing that leads you to use even if you don't actually use, slowing your recovery considerably. Doesn't sound like a good trade to me.

Like the two above posts both said, quitting is quitting.

    point taken fg4795. thanks.
I agree 100% MO has greater chance of leading to PMO....by some f'd up justification
