So far it's been 8 months free from porn websites and masturbation combined. I always remind myself when was the last time I watched porn and masturbated? How did I feel after I released the semen? I remembered that I felt disgusted and sick to my stomach. I also lost a lot of energy. When I'm having sexual thoughts or urges, I always resist of masturbation and I'm really good at that. Sooner or later, the thoughts are going to dissipate.

Awesome, my man! 225 days here! Unfortunately this quarantine is making things hard, and I am not seeing those benefits anymore, maybe when I will go out of my home, they will come back!

  3. Congrats dude :)
How much have your shared about your PMO with people around? Is it bad or shameful if I consult this more with my parents and therapist?

No , it is not bad or shameful, it is brave! I would recommend consulting with them but be prepared to explain to them the depth of the PMO addiction and the science behind it if they don't accept/believe it. Talking more about the addiction brings it out of the shadows and makes it weaker, so I believe it is actually recommended!

  5. Thank You. Honestly, my parents aren't serious about this. I try real hard to explain them but it's like a way of society. Still, they are helping me occupy things that I do in day to day life. Right now I don't have a therapist due to pandemic. I guess things might improve after my parents meet a therapist.
I hope you are doing good. Seems like you have already past through half a year therefore congrats :)

Congrats! I think you don't need to tell your therapist anything. Indeed you don't need one of them. That's base in exactly the opposite idea of free of slavery porn addiction and they will never understand. Phsycoanalisis is full of darkness and it swims throughout categories of the mind and they basically rationalize vicious and put them into theories.

  8. Honestly, I have a fear of going past through rewiring my brain through this(more than even PMO). It's really hard for me to socialize and I hardly have friends. How did things turn out for you over the last 6 months? I mean socially?

I get you man, for me it's the same since I struggle with social anxiety, I haven't done well socially the last months because of Covid and the lockdown situation, but I know if I want to overcome this addiction this is something I'm going to have to face. I'm going to have to put myself out there and meet new people and form new relationships. Otherwise I will struggle the break from the cycle of this addiction.

This addiction like all other addictions thrives in the dark, it thrives when we are disconnected, when we are lonely. I recommend watching the Ted talk with Johann Hari on addiction, where he discusses exactly this. This addiction can be an inability to connect with other people, to form healthy relationships, to be stuck in toxic friendships that lead to nothing but self-loathing.
