I think its not that getting a girl will make you a real man, but it can make you a more complete man.
because then you realize it has nothing to you as a man - it can help you grow, and you need to experience this to learn many aspects of being a man.
thats about it.

so its a stepping stone, like a building block. a learning experience.
once you do this several times, hopefully you learn more about women and mostly YOURSELF and find your true purpose as a man.

I'd argue it still isn't too late. I mean, I'm 28 and I never had a girlfriend before. I'm not really in a rush to date though, to be honest. Though admittedly, I struggled with getting women interested in me when I was younger. I guess I now realize that I don't really need to try and win women over the way I used to. There's more to life than girls. A friend of mine once offered to set me up on a date with this one girl, who I decided just wasn't right for me, so I respectfully declined.

I guess the point here is that I just don't think too much about it. I'm not worried about it in the slightest now, and everything is fine. It's better than getting frustrated over it and turning into an angry incel (I'd rather not do that.).
