The Dopamine Detox Challenge *(Science Based)*

    Day 1/30
    Doing dopamine detox
    Will update my status and how it is affecting my reboot every 3 days

    Days 21 and 22/30

    Didn't have the time to check yesterday, so I'm counting for the last two days. Within this challenge, I can feel more energized to do daily things and stay productive. Also I can maintain a good sleeping routine, essential for being healthy and active.

    The past days I‘ve needed to check my phone more often than three times a day (which is how I’m approaching the challenge).

    It’s however not been because of some urges but for practical reasons, like seeing if someone I’m meeting with has sent me a message.

    So I’m not counting that as a relapse. It’s been fairly easy to avoid social media, YouTube, Netflix, porn sites, news sites, blogs, aimless surfing etc.

    When I do go online it’s with a purpose and I don’t spend a lot of time.

    On this challenge, I began to value my time a lot more. You suddenly perceive that time is a limiting factor for all we wish to accomplish in life and cannot be purely wasted for no reason. It's equivalent, on some way, to throw away your precious money on the trash.

    Hey @Bihari I'd like to join this challenge! For 30 days, I will be abstaining from:

    1. All porn, porn subs, masturbation, and edging.
    2. Drugs of any form (caffeine, alcohol, weed, etc.).
    3. Mindless internet usage (All social media, youtube, browsing Amazon, etc.).
    4. All television and movie streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc.). I will make one exception to this which is a weekly social gathering which involves watching a movie. It's more social and the movie tends to be more in the background so I'm going to allow it.
    5. Video games of any kind.

    I don't really read/watch much news media and I don't eat much by way of carbs and sugar. I'm not really counting those though since I already don't do them.

    Also, I'm beginning these 30 days with a 5-day water only food fast.

    Today is day 1

    On day 16/30

    I’m becoming more socially active which means I have to check my phone more often.

    I’m however still not indulging in Netflix, YouTube, P, news, blogs, social media, aimless surfing, looking at shopping websites to kill time or spending more time on this forum than I need to.
