Still the pros outweigh the cons, I don't want to waste time and energy for some pleasure, I don't care if it's healthy(which is still a debatable subject), I would rather spend 15 minutes studying and exercising than beating my meat, besides we hate the feelings that we get that ensue masturbation:

    Lack of motivation AND energy

    Fatigue

    Confusion

    Tiredness

As long as no P is involved, I’m of the opinion that it’s fine.

Not true, men have masturbated for eons without P.

  5. These are not universal traits of masturbation. These, I would argue, are traits of people who masturbate excessively. And not a single person on this forum supports compulsive behavior, myself included.

Without porn, you can masturbate as much as you want. Although over doing it it might have physical effects like fatigue but not any mental effect

You forgot the part where excessive masturbation
    Is still addictive

  8. Excessive masturbation *can be* addictive, and there is no official diagnosis for porn or masturbation addiction - keep that in mind. I believe most people who have researched this issue would agree that you can masturbate or watch porn compulsively. And as far as I'm concerned, that's enough for now. Compulsion is no good either.

    1. Read again. I said WITHOUT PORN.
    2. Anxiety and depression are just consequences of porn overdose.
    3. When you masturbate without porn, you won't be able to over masturbate. Because it's not that much fun. You will only masturbate to release the sexual tension in your body. So ED is very unlikely

Having sex with oneself is unnatural. I think it's as simple as that. Dopamine and oxytocin are released during sexual activity to desire and bond to another person's body, not to one's own hand and mental/visual images of sex/naked bodies. Sexing with your own hand/with a screen messes up the natural homeostasis in our brain chemistry that is designed for interacting with human mates. Things that are unnatural will eventually lead to problems. Be it addiction or other physical/mental problems. Prioritizing momentary pleasure over future problems is stupid. It would give me pleasure to eat pizza and chocolate every day, but my body wasn't designed to each such foods so I will only have them once in a while to avoid getting fat and sick. But that's just like my opinion, man. *faps away*

How exactly do you plan on being sexually aroused without visually imagining sex or a sexually attractive mate? Do you look at the ceiling thinking 'damn that ceiling looks so sexy right now'? Or think what you will have for dinner while sexually stimulating yourself? Sexual desire and arousal are designed to physically bond with sexually attractive mates.

  12. No it's not.
What are you talking about? Men get sexually aroused all the time, for seemingly no reason. I wake up in a state of arousal almost every single morning, as I'm sure many other people do. I don't have to visualize anything for that. Your arguments are just so bad, man. And stop saying "design," this is not a religious discussion. How many times do I have to spell this out? Let's take "design" to mean "function." The function of arousal is to make people want to have sex with mates. One side-effect of that is that sometimes people get aroused when there are no mates to be found. Thus, masturbation.

LOL Since when can we reproduce with ourselves? If you can, you are some kind of superhuman :emoji_laughing: where in nature are we supposed to have sex with ourselves and release our precious genetic material inside a tissue where it's wasted? :emoji_hushed:

Where in religion is "design" used for talking about biological functions?? I'm so confused. I thought we are only talking about biological functions here? Not sure how you would think of dragging religion into this, I am not religious.

I was talking about arousal in combination with sexual stimulation. So I assume that you can wake up in the morning feeling hungry but then not eventually think of a specific food to eat to satisfy your natural instinct? You really sound like some kind of superhuman. Of course you can start to feel randomly aroused, that doesn't mean that when you start touching yourself, you would indeed be satisfied by looking at your ceiling or think about what you will have for dinner.

  14. I thought you were using figurative language to describe masturbation. Obviously you can't have sex with yourself unless your dick is really long. Stop saying things like "supposed to". And stop using nature as a moral predicator. Animals masturbate in nature all the time, humans included. You can't make the utilitarian argument either because sperm production is incredibly fast. If I jerk off, I can usually have another ejaculation within 20 minutes. Are you really going to talk about "wasting sperm" and ignore the fact that the average person has less than 2 kids, and produces 525 billion sperm in his lifetime.

If you respond to anything in this post, respond to this:
Why is it so important to save every single ejaculation for sex if the average person only has 1.9 children (in America) and the human population is well over 7.6 billion?

Are you going to go after people for spitting? That wastes precious water, you know. Why do you care so much about cum?
Religion has tons of design-based prescriptive claims of what people should do with their bodies. Stop playing dumb.

    Yes you are.

You dragged religion into the conversation by saying "design." Design implies a designer. Use "function."
Your attempts to make me look ridiculous are falling flat on their face. Yes, you can wake up in the morning and not know what to eat. This food analogy is so bad, let's just focus on the main argument.
I have personally jerked off many times without thinking about anything at all. Are you actually going to deny that it's possible to sexually stimulate yourself just for the sheer pleasure of it? What even are these arguments? Who are you lol

You definitely have to fantasise during masturbation to get aroused. No denying that.
    But it's different from porn.
    1. Very first point. As you mentioned above sexually attractive mates. In real life girls are not even 50% attractive of what you see in porn. So when you will fantasize, you will have to fantasize about real life girls that you see around you instead of those porn stars with perfect bodies. This will also help a lot during sex because that body type already arouse you.
    2. You will even reach a point when even the thought that it's te to masturbate will arouse you. That's when you will admit that you don't need porn to masturbate or to arouse yourself.
    3. Rest I cant explain because even I haven't experienced everything (Im just 18). So you just have to try it yourself
    4. Need of porn for arousal is like need of sleeping pills to fall asleep

I have no point to debate anymore. What's for sure is that one of us is right and other one is not so right. Only time can tell. But I'll still stick with my own ideology

  18. For myself, masturbation makes me feel very detached from people and I become more of a “me me me me” type of person. I started masturbating when I was 13 and did that without porn until my early 20’s. Once I found porn, my masturbation frequency increased as well as my feelings of detachment.

Even if I recovered from porn addiction I wouldn’t want to go back to masturbating. As someone with trust issues having the ability to get sexual pleasure without requiring any vulnerability hasn’t really been beneficial for me in establishing trust or will power.

How is that detaching from people. It's just being self dependent for sexual arousal

  20. Read your own question back to yourself but slowly. Also please quote the entire sentence and not just half of what I said. l
