What are the best things to do to help your life when you feel you have hit rock bottom?
I can't imagine continuing the way I am. I lost my girl, have bad depression. Half bald at 27 and super low self esteem. Pied and no friends. Can't socialise, or wouldn't even know where to start. No interest in doing anything so I end up back on my phone.

I'm trying to do the right things. Nofap 26 days, meditation, vitamins. I work out, although I could do more. I work in a good field with at least half decent prospects. But my heart isn't even in anything anymore.

Sorry for the downbeat post. Anyone conquered these feelings? Anyone scooped themselves out of a major rut in their life?

  2. I can't say I'm in the same boat, but I have had times when I have hit the bottom and needed help coming back up. I suggest taking control, doing things that you want to do and help your recovery. I'm currently reading the Power of Now, maybe a good book in helping you overcome your problems. The past is depression and the future is anxiety, it teaches that living in and accepting the now is the only way you'll overcome your fear, the only way you'll live to no longer create pain and add to your already painful bank of shit.

On another note shave the hair off, take control and overcome it in a way you wouldn't expect, just be bald because it sounds inevitable. So you're 27 and going bald, you're not the only one, nothing you can do to change the balding process, that was given to you through genetics, so stop worrying about it and just go for it, take back control of that fear.

    I hope this helps.

I think it’s repetition. Start a routine and keep at it. I’m back there now. It’s hard to start again. Really hard. But it can be done. It’s one day at at time, but it eventually adds up and you will feel satisfaction at the progress.

Thanks for the encouragement and replies. Yesterday was a real low point and this helped. I am back on the horse with a good routine. Keep on keeping on, something has to change eventually. Cheers guys.

When I hit rock bottom I turn to historical events. Especially Stoicism in the Roman Empire.

I try to zoom out. What would people have done 2000 years ago in the light of the plague and imminent war? What would have philosopher Epictetus and emperor Marcus Aurelius have done in the face of death? Facing an enemy much much worse than PMO? Read their works (just google on Amazon "Stoicism"). It helps a lot. Their approach is still valid until today. Nothing has changed in 2020 other than our little technological advancement.

When I hit rock bottom I think of people who are deformed but still enjoy life. I know that might sound strange I do have bad genes which messed my teeth and back. But I got my back fixed in 2016 no issues since teeth trying to get that fix this year. My teeth have been a life long struggle so far and made me very depressed even a little mad at my dad for his bad genes.

Not trying to make fun of deformed people I feel bad for deformed people. But I like how some of them can live life so happily despite being deformed I seen deformed people on TV who are happier than I am and can't fix the deformity they have and are often picked on for looking strange but they still seem happy and are able to enjoy life still.

Overall I figure if they can live such happy lives dealing with these rare deformities maybe people with everyday bad genes which cause teeth issues, hair issues, and skin issues. can try to be a little happier as well.
