I've been trying to achieve this for a long time now. I'm determined to succeed more than ever. I will try to post here as much as I can. Today will be Day 1 soon, that is 24 hours will have elapsed since I started my challenge. One of the things that I noticed triggers me the most is negative thoughts. Any ideas to be more positive? Should we be taking supplements to help us be more positive?
Well was hardly to days and the chaser effect bit me. Will need to reset, I have updated my counter. Today is Day 0.
So, still at Day 1. Getting a lot of urges today. I think I am going to come here and write whenever this happens. I've seen other people doing this in their logs. Seems like a good idea to write down here than cave into urges. It's amazing how difficult this is. Will post again at the end of the day. I'm am going to try hard to make sure tomorrow becomes day 2 and not day 1 again.
Go for your goals bro! When u feel the urge...go outside for a walk, listen to music, read a book, learn a language, cook something healthy, call a friend but whatever you do, FIGHT the temptation to not watch P again. If you have time I strongly encourage to read https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/too...my-thoughts-on-rebooting-extremely-long-post/
Day 1: 34 hours in. Really intent on getting pass the chaser effect. Unfortunately, starting to feel some urges.
Cold showers. Thats the secret weapon. There were so many times where i nearly relapsed and i just jumped into the shower and had cold water run on me for awhile. When i came out of it my urges were way more easier to handle. Use this in emergency situations. I know cold showers can be scary but you want to beat this addiction dont you? Just try it out and see the results for yourself. And cold showers has even more great benefits you can read about to motivate you. The only time i wouldnt recommend it is if you have a medical condition that prevents you from taking them. Also, listen right now if fighting this urge is the only thing in your life than you will probably fail. If everyday all you are doing is worrying about breaking your streak than all you'll be thinking about is porn and your addiction. And the more you think about it the stronger it will get until you relapse again. Just think about it. Isn't this what's been happening? Now right now you need to keep yourself active the more things you do the less time your mind will be thinking of porn and not only that its going to help you improve yourself. Take up new hobbies like exercising, journaling, cooking. Things that will improve you as a person. I like to think about it like this: its difficult to cut something with a dull knife. The more you sharpen the knife the easier it will be to cut. So right now what is difficult to cut is porn but the more you sharpen yourself the better you will be at handling it. So the more you improve yourself the better you will fight this addiction.
Thanks for your advice @obi64. I took your advice and did a cold shower. Felt amazing! It wasn't the first time I had taken a cold shower, but this time I actually stayed much longer until it wasn't even disturbing. After a basically froze myself, its like I had a renewed strength to fight back. It's been 2.5 Days from my last relapse and will continue to move forward.
Feeling good today. I'm on Day 4. I think that joining the Jedi Temple and Lord of the Rings challenge is helping me since I love both them very much.
Today is Day 5. I'm okay, but starting to get this feeling of aimlessness, bordering on boredom. And I think that's dangerous because it makes me want to PMO.
From Day 57 to Day 60 in the afternoon and night I get muscle/nerve pain for the whole body. This is related to the feeling of being sleepy and comes with RLS. Definitely dopamine-related. If I rest and sleep a bit it goes away in one hour or such. I also felt the same while quitting coffee. Chronic Masturbation is really a drug and has withdrawal symptoms. I'm now convinced.
Great progress so far! Find more interests for yourself. Go running or start learning something new. There is always something better to do than PMO. Don't waste time & energy in this!
Thanks for the support guys. Feeling the urges. I noticed that feel like eating more too. I even feel like shaky inside. Could food cravings and PMO addiction be related. Somehow I feel like not eating what I want might stress me out and cause further withdrawal symptoms related to PMO. Perhaps I should just eat whatever I want today.
You just need like 28 days in order to get rid of some bad habbits and develope some good ones. I recommend you the book The Power of Habbit in order to understand why are we acting how we act and why is it so hard to change ourselves.
