Most of the psychological community doesn't agree with you, neither do a lot of people here, former fap addicts like me. Only people with something else going on with their mind can have this happen to them, porn doesn't cause it, as the original poster said they have struggled with various kinds of obsessive thoughts their whole life. If you want to be taken seriously give examples of gay guys "escalating" into straight porn, you can't, that's why there's no such thing as heterosexual obsessive compulsive disorder. I wrote that "normal" porn and masturbation are worthless, and pointed out that I don't feel proud about it, so I must assume you think there can be a "healthy" amount of porn and masturbation, but there is not, to say otherwise is mainstream bs. You're unintentionally arguing for the mainstream point of view that sexuality is fluid and culturally malleable, but that is only true for women and LGBTQ men - real straight men, by definition, never obsess about gay sex, neither do they think about it unless someone brings it up. Reality check: "porn addiction" isn't real, it's actually masturbation addiction, and you would masturbate to gay fantasies even if there was no porn.

I think most of the community think you’re retarded if you believe that “you are what you watch”. I’m not going to continue this because it’s clear you have no idea wtf porn addiction can do to people.

    Hope you heal!

Honestly wish I didn’t make this post. It made the anxiety worse. This isn’t the first time I’ve been through this, but it’s extremely difficult this time. He’s ignorant and fails to acknowledge that peoples millage varies with this addiction. I was reminded I was straight at work the other day when I started fiending for a coworker And yesterday when I saw a choreographed video. I have to restart my streak this week but I want it to last. - I put him on my ignored list

    Hi Damaged
The great strength of these forums is the fact that you get so many other insights into what may be going on with you. The great weakness of these forums is that you get too many other insights into what may be going on with you.

I would suggest the most likely explanation as to why you are now viewing this category of porn is the dopamine effect. Your brain looks like it is simply de-sensitized to ordinary' pornography and in order for you to receive those awesome chemical hits from your brain, you now need to find new forms of pornographic image to stimulate the chemical processes.

As somebody that also has suffered from mild OCD on occasion this contributes to the process of continual usage and addictive behavior.

To be honest, although it is important to try to understand what is going on in your brain when you feel the urge to perform this almost ritualistic behavior and viewing - I do also think these things can be over thought. The quickest way (although clearly not easy) is to continue to concentrate on your journey towards abstention (if indeed this is an aim for you). The longer you are away from PMO the best chance your brain patterns have to returning to some level of normality in terms of your day to day thought processes.

Trust me man, you are straight. Anxiety is the culprit. Remove the anxiety from a situation and it can’t hurt you. Don’t even pay attention to people that tell you that it’s suppression or “you are what you watch”. You know that’s stupid and wrong so just don’t let it get to you. Don’t let a couple of stupid people on this forum fuel your anxiety.

Treat them as if they are anxiety spikes and dismiss them as bullshit.

Dude that guy has no idea what he's talking about. I'm fairly new to this community but I'm sure I've experienced what a lot of others have here. Porn really WILL make you go deeper into videos you would never have watched in the first place out of disgust or just not being your sexual preference. I've never liked guys or done anything with them BUT eventually that was all I could watch from porn. And hell it even happens to gay people who start to think they were probably straight all along.

It's part of the reason I'm doing nofap as well. I'm sure we'll get over this man!
