I have reasearched a lot in Brahmacharya Sharing my reasearches in a short and crisp way. It will be a good read.

So, Brahman means the Divine and Chari means one who is on the path of
BRAHMACHARI- One who is on the path of the divine.
    This is a Indian
concept which was practiced there about a century ago. Children between the age of 12-24 were sent to the GURUKUL.
In the mordern day times it can be defined as a place where people Practiced Semen Retention, Yoga, Meditation, read Holy books and Non-Vegetarinism. This was how education used to be. Semen cannot be digested but it rises up to the brain where there is a Vein.
If practiced with utmost respect and gratitude on a daily basis this can do wonders.
It is believed that it gives humans a 6th sense.

I want to emphasize that this is a subject which deserves much more attention.

The problem may be that Brahmacharya is not readily understood.

Some of the concerns I see on the forums seem to be in the wrong direction.

Consideration of Brahmacharya may reveal the ultimate purpose of our efforts.

    I feel so too.
    Please elaborate your views.

‘Brahmacharya’ is followed blindly by many people like a cult.
It’s not a cult, it’s a state of the mind, that I feel inculcates certain qualities in a
    person.

    1. It’s not a failure to lose semen via a wet dream. You have not performed a sin by doing that.
    2. If you’re gonna follow this so that you achieve superpowers, don’t do it coz you won’t.
    3. Holding semen within your body consciously is just the very surface of the matter.
The heart of this concept is Learning to Handle Lust. You cannot GAIN control over LUST, you cannot, but you can learn how to handle a situation if you fall into one.
This is why in The Hindu epics, The Various Swamis (Monks) have Spontaneously Ejaculated to the sight of a beautiful apsara(a Heavenly Beautiful Lady).
    4. It’s about how you develop your Capacity to Not give importance to thoughts of Lust on encountering an attractive woman.
Occurrence of thoughts is inevitable. But further entertaining them is in your control.

Its the same case with this concept as with many Others in My religion(and other religions too I believe). People refuse to understand the heart of the matter and decline to perform it until some Heavenly, Divine Returns are Guaranteed to them. People are foolish and Greedy, it is in this Chaos, that they lose the ability to think.
And over the Thousands of years that Hinduism has existed, the central ideas of these concepts have blurred out, and covered by a THICK layer of Superstitious Irrational Beliefs.

Just curious. How exactly do people practice Bramhacharya, in a practical way?

Thank you for sharing your insights.

Glad to see that someone really is!!!
The main objective of yours must be to connect yourself to the all mighty. In these modern day you should practice semen retention for a really long time (12 yrs) NoFap is a smaller step towards it. For all these years you are called as a sadhak (seeker). I know that it seems the worlds most impossible task. Therefore people practice some techniques in order to achieve this known as
    Transmutation techniques:
    Some of which may include
    Meditation for say 10 min
    Yoga for half an hour
One pointed focus say studying without any disturbances for say an hour or so.
Vegetarianism it is done to cool down your body from the urges.
And Journaling can be even added

See, what fapping does it that it really makes you lethargic. Brahmacharya makes you that 11 or 12 year active boy who used to constantly stay happy. It also earns you so much of focus that you can't believe. Brahmacharis have a photographic memory imagine man

    This is an awesome post!

I've had porn addiction problems for over 15 years. I've tried to break this habit for the last 8 years unsuccessfully, with the wrong motives (be confident, get girls, be motivated etc). I was in rehab last year and my room mate was a Hindu, and he shared much information on spirituality and Bramcharya with me, where I saw how deep the Nofap/porn addiction rabbit hole actually goes. It is in fact, a deep internal spiritual war. He explained Bramcharya as purity in thought, word, and deed. All areas are connected, as is our sexuality and health. Bramcharya is a commitment. A commitment to faith, goodness, and light. I've done the 12 Steps, and I'm doing my best to live a faith driven life. I personally feel that one has to walk the spiritual path to truly shift from addiction, but that is my opinion. If anyone would like to chat or share info on Bramcharya or spirituality, PM me! Good luck brothers. Onwards and upwards. Never give up!

Thanks for explaining, Sultan101. For what I know of Monks and celibacy of different religions there seems to be a lot of similarities to what you are describing. Sexual purity, meditation and healthy diet all seem to be common denominators to help one focus on the almighty. From the Hindu perspective, what is the significance of 12 of semen retention? Why 12 years?

the same way it takes water to reach 100'C celcius to boil so does the body need to reach the next level. This should be started preferably no later than 33 years of age. After ~12 years like this one reaches a climax. Mental focus, bodily focus, everything clean, focused and motivated. <- this is the previous stage. Now it fills you up entirely. You no longer need to practice mental concentration for well...mental concentration. Your mind during sleep is more focused than a normal wankers mind when his loved ones are in danger or he is about to die himself. Your focus and mental capability or sheer will, power, capability, is on another level that must be experienced to be understood.

Hey, I really related to this, also any thread on Brahmacharya is of interest to me.
What you have said acknowledges that this, as one of our basest urges is inseparable from ourselves. When the situation comes and the urges arrive, we need to me mentally and physically prepared to what we will do in advance. For example you see a scene from a film that is triggering you can walk out from the room to somewhere else. Have a plan. I had to delete lots of images from my computer, and install blocking filters to enhance my self control. Thank you for sharing this.

    Peace ✌ Brahmacharya ☸
