I also take beta blockers on the rare occasion when i feel extremely stressed. Doesn't really seem to help too much.

I believe i have hit the flatline again over the past few weeks so things again have been rough. Still, i have been very sick over the past few days so its hard to tell what symptoms are coming from where. That stress is a killer man and it often feels like sometimes theres nothing we can do to improve it. The dull ache you speak of is there for me too, along with social anxiety, fatigue etc. Month to month i am way better, for sure but i still feel i have a long way to go.

It can be hard to feel like any progress is being made if you go back into a rough period.

    Keep at it man.

Have to say that guy has posted a detailed attempt at ripping apart YBOP and its lack of science and evidence and then made a lot of claims without any science or evidence.

Not saying I agree with everything YBOP is about but there is thousands of guys who have it to thank for making them realise that PMO is messing them up. We should be thankful to Gary for at least that.

That post doesn't mention the withdrawals and flatline, and offers no explanation. The flatline/PAWS is undeniable and most of us experience it when leaving PMO - it follows so closely to other addictions. This guy doesn't address that and how it fits in with his ideas. It fits perfectly in with changes in the dopamine/reward system.

Id be careful beleiving any post on the internet claiming he is part of some obscure worldwide sexual psychology emailing list with "some of the greatest minds on the subject. Far more likely is that he is a troll. @StarRider I agree with much that you have posted, but I am starting to think you are a bit of a troll yourself :)

Anyway again this thread is being taking off topic. Lets keep it on PAWS reports only, its far more useful that way.

Yeah beta blockers don't really remove the stress or anxiety, but they kinda of help stop you progressing into panic stages or at least your body break down when you start to panic. Valium and beta blockers together definately help, make you a bit groggy/slow but definately help ease the anxiety and there effect. Of course they're highly addicitve/dependant so you don't want to be taking them regularly, but as said I soldiered for the first 13-14 month and suffered a huge amount in specific meetings etc, where as I should have just used valium/beta blockers and could have saved myself a ton of suffering

Day 93 of current streak, a year in with only a few relapses. I can now have infrequent sex without a condom. Next step, infrequent sex with condom.
I got really mad over no reason for the past few days. Then I cried. Now I feel fine. Anyone encountered this?

I suggest just putting people you don't like in this thread on ignore, you will never hear from them again. Don't waste your energy.

I find that beta blockers only help me slightly with the physical effects of anxiety. I also find they help with shortness of breath too which is kind of nice. I maybe take 1/4 of a tablet once or twice a month if i find stress overwhelming. I would also like to add that beta blockers are non-addictive, hence the reason i started using them.

Anyways man, glad you are getting some relief from them. Hopefully with enough time we won't need them.

I also experienced a lot of anger in the initial stages of my reboot. Emotional swings is very common on this journey.

Yeah, I also have problems with anger, and they tend to crop up about 7-14 days in to a reboot. Days 0-7 I'm generally just too tired! Then I become very irritable until eventually I start to chill out as my overall health starts to improve.

Thanks bro, feeling better this past week. I've started a daily analysis of my main symptoms, so I can track it towards full healing which Im hoping will come this next 6 months.

    Day 135

I had a couple of days of feeling pretty good then it flattened off and I feel tired, sleepy, slight low mood and voice has gone weak and nasally again.

I made a startling discovery last night. I suppose cold showers and exercise are recommended because they work! I was having the most dreadful flatline ever. Stayed in bed for a long time. Was whiny to my girlfriend. Hated my life and was angry at everything. Then, after my cold shower and light exercise, I felt completely fine. The effect was immediate! And it lasted until I fell asleep.

    Just curious.

Does anyone have/had only or for the most part physical PAWS symptoms ?

What does for the most part physical PAWS symptoms mean?

  13. How do you guys think magic mushrooms will interact with PAWs symptoms?

With that I meant having almost only physical PAWS symptoms and not so much the mental symptoms

Not sure but recently after speaking to a neuroscience he recommended them or over psychedelic to help with neurogenesis. I currently have 40g of magic mushrooms to microdose, but havent started yet

In my opinion they will neither hinder or help to speed up the recovery, though they could have an impact on the symptoms themselves.

  17. Past 300 days and my symptoms are only getting worse. This truly blows. It feels like I'm stuck.

I keep relapsing every 2-3 weeks and have really bad withdrawals. I know my recover will most likely take 1-2 years because of how much I edged during my teen years. I’m 21 now.

Anyways, without getting too much into my situation, I was just wondering how you guys handle triggers?

Are movies with sexual content or bikini pictures on Instagram or things similar to these considered a relapse?

Every time I come across arousing content even if it’s for 10 or 20 seconds I begin feeling worse. I enter flatline again and PAWS symptoms get worse. Does this get better later on or is it a sign that I cannot be exposed to arousing content no matter what in order for me to recover.

It’s really tough because I can’t completely prevent myself from stumbling upon arousing content, it’s everywhere.

It is hard. What i do is avoid movies/shows with triggers. Delete instagram. When you face triggers quickly look away and count to 20. And the most important trick to not relapsing is to realize that PMO is drugs. It has that effect on your brain. How badly do you want to feel normal and even have the benefits such as magnetism, confidence, happiness? If you want that as much as you wanna breathe. If you want that with every bone in your fucking body. Then you will not relapse. I have had big streaks using that mindset with a few MO inbetween because i sometimes forget that mindset. But it has helped me a lot. Because i genuily want to get better more than i wanna breathe, and i know you guys want that aswell deep down inside.
