It's day 37. I saw a statistic that stated that 50% of men feel no withdrawl symptoms after 28 days. I don't believe I've felt anything better to be honest. Some days are still incredibly miserable. It almost makes me want to give up. Is it even worth it anymore? I keep telling myself things get better but they really haven't. I do my best to not even look upon women with lustful intent. I exercise, eat normally, possibly a little too much, and I've made my days pretty productive. Yet even with all these changes I still feel awful. It may have even gotten worse. Should I see a therapist or continue to wait this out?

  2. I am not a professional but as far as I can judge your situation: I highly recommend you to visit a therapist.
You are doing great! Don't give this up. Keep moving forward. But visit a therapist. It helped me a lot. It will take some time but
you will understand yourself and also why you are feeling bad. When I was depressed 2 years ago I did everything. I woke up 2 hours before school
did my workout every day, do my homework, studied more than most of the others, I focused on my goals, I read books about
becoming better at many things, about depression, about ADHD, I did NoFap. I am glad that I never gave up. And someday...
I reached the point where I understood that I don't need a proof to be good. Because I already was. Always. I was good enough :)
and so are you. Sometimes we just take longer to accept it ;)

37 days is really good but you're still only a little over 1/3 of the way through a typical reboot, don't give up now as you'll only have to go through it all again.

    Congrats on 37 days!

@The Legend of Hope brings up a good point. I hadn't previously considered the effect of prexisting mental health conditions on a reboot. Going to see a therapist could help you find the root problem that's leading you to pornography.

Hi i think that you are doing great. Its better to take that advice and go visit a therapist just to filter out other possibilities.

From my experience, i think you are on the right path. Look at it this way, why would you need to feel miserable after dropping off certain habit? The answer is you should not feel that bad.

You my friend were addicted like most of us. For years we have overload our reward system with dopamine and suddenly putting a stop to it. Thats like driving at 200mph and putting on handbrakes and you crash on the spot. Thats what you are feeling now, normal things doesnt keep u satisfied anymore. Its called desensitization of the brain.

The only way to see through these is keep on going and live a healthy lifestyle. Who knows how long it takes? We have been pmoing on average 10years and only reboot for 90days and expect to be heal. How absurd is that.
Just remember if you are going through hell, keep going. -Churchill

See you on the other side comrade!

Thank you guys. I really hope it will get better. I think it's actually gotten worse. I've been addicted to porn for about 5 years now, but only started masturbating less than a year ago. I thought it would be so much easier than this. It was almost enough to just have me feel like it wasn't even worth it

You're still in the early stages of recovery if you've been addicted to PMO for a number of years. I noticed a few minor benefits and signs of recovery after two or three months, but I actually didn't start to notice dramatic changes until around nine or ten months. It all depends on how long you were addicted and how frequently you indulged in the habit. No two addictions are the same, and no two recoveries are the same.
