Habit of searching up pictures on google

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Sep 10, 2020.

  1. Hello!
I have this habit of searching images related to pornstars or websites even though I have safe search permanently on. What would be good ways of avoiding this?

Or it just comes to power of the mind and being strict to myself?

Also is there way to get rid of Microsoft Edge easily without any problems? I use Chrome mainly.

    Hello!
I switched from google as a search tool to duckduckgo, they have a better filter module for "adult content" (fuck this term, it means that as adult I can watch Porn???). And since I am using duckduckgo + filter (like opendns or other parental control), I saw less naked girls on my computer.
I hope it can help you!
    Stay strong :)

  3. Nah I think I will just stick to google and be more strong

I think that's a good decision. Things like internet filters can work as a temporary solution, just to get your streak off the ground, but I think the goal should be building up self control. Filters aren't perfect and, even if they were, we live in a highly sexualized culture, so unless you plan on living in a monastery, you will need to develop self control for when you come across triggering imagery.

Alright, blocker is not the solution, for some people it works some not, this was just an idea. If you are strong enough to bypass blocker I wish it will go well. I hope you will be stronger, I wish you the best.

  7. Yeah I think the best bet at the moment is just question myself why I'm going to this particular website. I often notice that it is mindless actions without much thought in to it.

  8. I had this exact problem. How did I overcome it? Well the first step was realising that most of the time I was trying to justify doing it by saying things like "I'm just checking whether safesearch is working" etc. Essentially any time I did a google image search I was basically looking for porn and after several failures I managed to build up willpower to stop. I would also say that getting a porn blocker is a very good idea as it mean that if I did get triggered by an image search it would be easier to resist a full relapse.

Because you are bored an have nothing to do? It's my case when I have nothing to do I go to camgirl website..
    Or something else ?

  10. I think this is kind of my justification. I need to find a better blocker that is not gonna restrict my regular computer usage since many of them do. I'm gonna work on being more mindful and stronger regarding this.

What kind of blocker do you use since I have already plenty expenses and would prefer a free blocker?

  11. Ah I'm afraid I've got a paid one (detoxify) which locks safe search for windows and android and VPN blocks porn, I've only really looked into android blockers since PC is less of an issue. But for pc I know opendns is a solid free option. *** on android can also block image search as well as porn and don't forget the NoFap chrome extension.

  12. Yeah I just use different browser on my phone so it is not issue on the phone more of an issue on the PC.
