I’m trying a sexual reboot and I’m 7-8 days in at this point. I’m wondering how long should I expect to abstain? I know I still have quite a long way to go.

What are your goals for abstaining?

That's easy then. You'll want to quit cold turkey, focusing 100% on your wife instead.

Thank you for your insight, but how long do you think I should abstain?

You should really aim to move on from PMO completely, but if that's too much right now just focus on 90 days.

Sorry for the late reply. What you do is, every time you see an image or think a thought or feel a feeling that starts to trigger a desire to PMO, you deny it right away as fast as possible. Just like lifting weights, you'll get stronger and faster at this over time.
After maybe a week, a few weeks, a month, you'll probably get a few really bad attacks that are clearly different in quality from the stuff you deal with ever day. Honestly I think it's demons or something, but regardless, these might keep you from sleeping for an hour or more, but they can only ever push you so hard and only for a limited time before they eventually go away.
It's a skill you'll continually improve on as you go. It might help to think of these as boss battles.
