    Hi everyone,

I am quite worried now and would like your advice.

At the moment it is over 3 years ago that I have stopped PMO.
At the time (and still) I had a fetish for certain type of female watches.
In the past years I wasn't sure whether looking at these watches in a jewelry store is damaging for my recovery or not. I assumed it was and tried to avoid looking when passing a store.
Yesterday I was with my partner at a jewelry store and I knew that they sell this type of watch of which I have a lot of sexual/porn memories of.
I went there intentionally and viewed it several times with quite some attention.
Ever since.. my head is basically obsessed with thinking only about this watch / watches combined with sex. I have issues to think clear about other things and concentrate.

Maybe I really over react, but I am afraid that this messed up my recovery or even is a relapse. What do you think?

    Thank you in advance

How is it even a relapse if you didn't PMO, but only thought of it after coming across the thing by accident? Chill.

Why don't you buy the watch for your partner, tell her about the fetish and act it out with her instead of obsessing over it and eventually PMOing?

Yeah.. I know.. it is not like I viewed porn and MO'd, but I feel guilty because this time I didn't stop myself from not looking at something that is triggering and I went there on purpose to check it out.
Can this be considered something that damages the recovery?

"If I have a feet fetish and I look at my feet or somebody else's, is that resetting my progress?"

This is exactly what you're asking. Relax. It didn't 'damage' your recovery. If it disturbs you so much though, maybe avoid those kinda stores for a while till you think you can handle it.

    ?

  5. Well done for not keeping this to yourself. Remember that no one is perfect, you are going to make mistakes but the fact that you feel uncomfortable means you are taking your recovery seriously which is a good thing. Try not to take yourself too seriously though, give yourself a break and relax about it. I have fetishes that once had real power over me, but they will loose a lot of that power over time if you don't feed them by acting out.

  6. You should avoid such stores, that's for sure. Sometimes you simply can't avoid meeting your fetish, but in your case, you're luckier than, let's say, a foot fetishist. Avoid it. Don't buy it. It might become a trigger, and you're experienced enough to know what comes from small temptations. So, stay away.

But a relapse? No, you're fine. Be happy with your 3-years accomplishment and simply consider your bad experience as a reminder that we're never really safe. The fact that you wrote about it shows how much you care. Cheers!
