The START 2021 STRONGER Challenge [CLOSED]

Discussion in 'Events & Challenges' started by Deleted Account, Sep 3, 2020.

  1. Brothers! Today I spent so much time on cell phone that the urges came and I couldn't control myself and I relapsed unfornately, but I'm not giving on my own because I'm stronger than before and I will win!
Together we win brothers! All of US!

    Day 0 Check in!

  3. Sorry to hear. Have you put a plan in place to stop this from happening? No phone in the bedroom, no screens an hour before bed? Try meditation or yoga just before going to bed. Our willpower is stronger when you have other practices in place.

I would like to withdraw my original participation and sign back up tommorrow since challenge is open through tomorrow.
Beginning tomorrow, this challenge will be a one and done for me.

  5. Hi. Technically I have extended it until 30 Sept.

3 October is the last day to start and still reach a 90 day reboot but I figured I'd cut it off Sept 30th

I added a Legends tier for anyone in the challenge before that and who achieves 100 days. I'll announce that day in a few .

  7. Perfect. We already started. The 30th is the cutoff to get 100 (103) days in and reach Legends Tier. The challenge is with yourself, not the other participants.

You're in. Welcome to the challenge. I hope you can do this for you...next year is ours!!!

    Please read...

Today was my original start date cutoff. I wanted to give everyone a shot at reaching 100 days. That will be on Wednesday. After Wednesday if you relapse you can't get those days back and make it up. You'll be moving down the tier ladder.

Check out the first post. I've edited it quite a bit with dates, and small rule clarifications to help you out. I DID CHANGE THE ENROLLMENT CUTOFF to 30 September at 1159 pm. Technically anyone who joins by 01 October can still get 92 days of reboot - the NoFap most common basic recommend goal, and this will account for time zone differences.

Bottom line is if you're seriously interested in making this change... It is time. Some people already struck out of the challenge before we got the enrollment cutoff. That's fine, and knowing how NoFap works - it is expected. But don't kid ourselves, this is no easy task.

I went ahead and wiped all the red x strikes for all users that reported a relapse. Because today was the original start day - I'll begin the red x system today. Get three strikes and you'll be assigned the tier you qualify for and you must reach 2 weeks minimum to hit bronze.

    Hope this all makes sense.

  9. Love it @BrohkenCompass ! Count me in! I might use up all of my strikes but I need to get myself in a better place. I need to start off the year having accomplished something - even bronze by the end of the year would be something noteworthy.

Checking in. Made it to day 1 again. Hopefully this is the last time I have to say day 1. I’ve told myself instead of constantly telling myself I’m trying to stop nofap, I’m just gonna be someone who doesn’t masturbate, simple. It might seem like a small step but reframing it like that helps me in a way. It doesn’t feel like a fight, but rather reinforcing my identity.

  11. There are no rules brother. You decide what you need. Understand the science and theories though. Don't just make a plan haphazardly.
If the porn, the dopamine, the sensory stuff is an issue attack that.
If I we're going to taper into a long plan I'd say eliminate porn. Eliminate MO after that. If you're looking at porn, only one thing accompanies or follows. And it's not good. Choose your rules brother. Best of luck to you.

  12. My friend, I'm excited to welcome you. You've got mountains if experience to share. Some of the participants are just kicking off their journey. Some will stumble. Some will downright fall. Some might quit, but as I suspect you already know I am going to say it.... EVERYBODY WILL GROW. And you my friend, being here will be a part of that growth. Yours. Mine. Everybody's. Here's to better than Bronze! I believe in you.

This is indeed not an easy task. I think most of the challengers here are on the younger side. I have been doing this for decades now (recovery stuff) and still struggle to get to double digits. I began this challenge on September 5 at Day 1 and 15 days later, I am checking in here at Day 1.

Those last 2 weeks has been my history for decades now, yet here I am gunning for triple digits to start 2021. It will not happen without an intentional plan, which is still in development, along with all of us working through this together.

    Onto Day 2.....

  14. I guess I'd ask you the same thing I am trying to ask myself. What is the cost of keeping in this same trajectory? Of not making a change? More days, months, years of anxious feelings, ED, shame, guilt, hiding in ourselves, loneliness, hopelessness? I can't go on like this brother.

I greatly appreciate the advice, thanks. You're right, I need to approach this systematically and smart. And I will, its time to change!

  16. Yes, an intentional plan is key. It’s not going to happen by chance. We have fallen too many times to believe that if we do nothing different, that we can expect different results. We all have things we need to do in order to make it to our goal. For me, it involves minimizing the amount of time I stay in the shower or bathroom. Avoiding problem areas is key, but along with not doing certain things, we need to start doing things as well. For me, I need to intentionally plan out my day and use my time wisely. I also need to be intentional about praying and studying the word of God. This is my plan for success. Everyone has different needs and different plan.

  19. Yep. My weight has been climbing for a decade. Every year is "the year" of changes. PMO is a newer obstacle for my attention, so it was last year when I entered this current battle. Coincidentally, my family was visiting me over Christmas and New Year....and the outcome sort of forced me into a "New Year's resolution". Because of the ED and other sexual dysfunction. I am very motivated to fix this. Unfortunately, porn has a grip on me and I am struggling to shake her. Hoping for a win soon.

  20. Hey @BrohkenCompass I'd like to get in.

    Btw just a technicality -
if somebody starts their counter on 23 September their badge will show 99 and not 100 at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Day 2021 (unless they start their streak exactly on midnight).
