Is another lockdown not an excuse to relapse on porn?

I live in the UK, and where I am in the UK I basically have been put in to another lockdown. It's not a full lockdown where I am in the UK, but the rules have went really strict. Because of my circumstances I basically have to self isolate. So I basically am in another lockdown.

What concerns me about this is there really is hardly anything to do. The only thing I can really do outdoors is go a walk. The weather isn't great where I am in the UK.

In the house I really don't know much stuff I could get up to. Watch tv, listen to music, read, and of course the main one for me is going on the internet.

I already have issues with alcohol, and I feel like being locked up constantly will just increase my alcohol intake. As my alcohol intake massively increased on the last lockdown.

I'll be honest guys, today I felt low and I had thoughts thinking to my self might as well just go back on porn for a bit during being locked up, as there really is going to be hardly anything to do, Basically drink alcohol, then have a hangover, then eat crap the following day, and end up on porn all day. What actually worries me is I actually enjoy doing this sometimes. I like getting drunk, then the following day when I am hungover I seem to be insanely horny, so then I just love to spend the entire day PMO binging because the level of pleasure and enjoyment I get from it when I am hungover. Then I also just order fast food takeaways for my lunch and dinner. Like I said the worry is I actually sometimes really enjoy doing all of this.

I guess I am just really concerned about being locked up constantly again, and then that has been giving me thoughts where I have been thinking might as well just PMO a bit more often during this, as there really isn't anything else to do or to strive for.

Has anyone else felt similar to this?

Yeah, i have thoughts of this sometimes through out my journey. But don't take this as an excuse, this will make you more addicted to pmo then you was before and harder to stop pmo. Even though it is hard abstaining from pmo as much as possible because of the coronavirus, we can't use this an excuse even i wan't to but i must accept that if i do it'll get worsen over time if i keep pmoing for the rest my life.

Maybe reading educational books, watching educational videos or reading a article could help.

I'm sorry dude, i know i can't relate to you being addicted to pmo for years and me as a kid telling you to not give in to pmo. But others like you around your age and above your age are dealing with this lockdown being isolated home alone and not trying to give in to pmo, you can search people in the Loneliness log or 30+ log.

I'm sorry that you had to be addicted to pmo for years, but theres still light down the tunnel!

These government measures amount to nothing less than house arrests and even if the lock-down is not complete eventually all of these draconian measures are going to lead to huge economical problems and goods/food scarcity. And from the looks of it, it looks like this is the life planned for us plebs to meet the UN agenda' 2030 goals of sustainable development. Life spent only in front of a monitor is meaningless. I think after time there will be many people who are against any sort of technology. I know I could use a break from it.

But back to topic, The more you give in the harder it will be to quit! In my case I know giving in for longer periods means that the recovery is a lot harder aferwards. A lot of people relapse once after a streak then think it's an excuse to binge for long time but then you are just frying your brain.

I am in a similar situation where my social activities have been greatly decreased due to government tyranny, the way I am trying to deal with it for the moment is by trying to exercise more, make sure that I go at least once everyday, explore different parts of town that I normally would never go to, even saying hello to random strangers can help although when many people wear the muzzle/cover their faces they turn into things that you cannot socialize with.

If you are "self isolating" because you believe you have health issues or have elderly around etc.. I highly suggest to look at alternative views on the subject. The government lied to people and told them it was 2 weeks to "flatten the curve", 6 months later and now they are indoctrinating the new generation on how to wear masks and be obediently isolated. There is a lot more to this than first meets the eye. On the long run, a life lived all alone without any human interaction is not worth living unless it's completely beyond your control.

Of course you enjoy it. It wouldn't be a temptation if you didn't. I think we sometimes like to talk like we do this thing that we have no desire to do. There is desire, that's what makes it so hard.

But your asking the wrong question to yourself. Is isn't would I enjoy this? The question you should ask yourself is something like: Will this help me be the person I want to be?

Self-discipline is deciding not to do this thing we want for the thing we need.

Good luck. You know the right decision, I hope you make it.

Hey @skaterdrew, while do not want in any way to diminish the specific challenges you are facing right now - they are real and they are unusual and they are, well, challenging - I'm going to alter your quote a little bit. I'm doing this simply to share how your words resonated for me as I read them.

Once I've done this bit of rephrasing, I'll answer your question:

    Personally, pretty much every day.

As always, let's keep doing the next right thing...

PMO will just result in you being more bored, so boredom isn't really a logical reason to do it.

Drew: try exercising (push ups and sit ups go a long way). Be creative by writing, drawing or making music. Read the books you've always wanted. There's like plenty you can do.

Remember that the Brits are a hardy people. They have suffered centuries of bloodshed and invasion under Celts, Romans, Saxons, Vikings and Normans. Most of this was done in rain and storms. It toughened them up to become the nation of warriors that once ruled the biggest empire the world has ever seen. This warrior spirit remains in your blood. So get outside, wear a raincoat and reconnect with the natural beauty of your your wonderful homeland. You'll feel much better for it my friend
