Day 61: Antigua and Barbuda! I could have virtually visited them yesterday, but I had to confess my dark sexual secrets to my wife and work out what to do about them. Staying P-free proves more fruitful and necessary every day, and I hope to always do so. It is imperative for me. Anyway, now I am visiting Antigua and Barbuda virtually, and I am proud to have almost 2 months!
"Secluded and private villas and beautifully appointed hotels" sound and look amazing! It is warm in Antigua and Barbuda, as they are in the Caribbean, which I did not know until now. It is truly gorgeous. The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda says "paradise awaits you" to all who want to visit or invest. The location makes these two islands apparently a great place to invest, as it is at a kind of crossroads in the ocean between North and South America, to the East in the Atlantic a little bit toward Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as well. I wish I were rich enough. I would consider investing there. "The beach is just the beginning."

The video I watched was "Discover Antigua and Barbuda." I thoroughly enjoyed it!

    Thank You,
    Al

Congrats Dude Al! I hope that all went well with that conversation with your wife. I know it must not have been easy or comfortable. But Antigua and Barbuda on the other hand, is. A Caribbean island paradise is what everyone needs right now. Happy to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your trip. Travel Board Updated!!

It's nice to be traveling again. Azerbaijan

    I wasn't familiar with Azerbaijan or it's
history. The summary is they are stuck in the middle and every Irainian, Mongol, Turkish, Muslim, or Russian empire has swept across the country killing lots of people along the way. I couldn't help imagining being a simple trader and having all that crap rock your world for no reason.

The country most recently abolished term limits and freedom of the press. Yikes!

I took a tour of a cool national park. There were mud volcanoes, pictographs, a big blue lake, signs of ancient civilizations, but no tours in English, so I'm not sure exactly what I was looking at although I enjoyed it.

The highlight of a day in Baku - a city with hints of a Russian past and giant glass buildings (the flame) from oil money - was the food. I had a dish that was a decontructed dumpling with lamb. Wow. I. Need. It. Lol. Also a festival dish that was a rice dish served in the middle of a loaf of bread that needed to be cut up.

Nice country. Delicious food. A good visit.

Excellent report GBF! It's great to have you back. Who says you need democracy to have a good time. Azerbaijan certainly seems like a dark horse in the travel world. A lot to keep you busy there on a number of levels. You're doing great man, looking forward to seeing you hit the Bs! Travel Board Updated!!

    Lol about democracy.

I forgot to mention that amazing food was dirt cheap.

That party dish would be a full meal for 5 people in a very cool downtown underground setting. It takes lots of prep work so it was the most expensive item on the menu. Less than $15 lol.

    71 days porn-free.
    Argentina.

I watched "10 Best Places to Visit in Argentina." The video had crappy accordion music behind it the whole time, but the places it showed were amazing.
I did not realize Argentina was so cold. There are lots of glaciers; in fact, there is a national park called Los Glaciares (Glaciers National Park), which looks incredible. You can take a boat tour and go near the constantly crumbling glaciers in the warmer months. That must be fantastic.
There is also quite a bit of skiing in Argentina, as it has many mountains. I like to ski, although I have not in many years, so Argentina might be a very nice place for me to go if I had the money.
The towns shown look very quaint and rustic. I love the antiquated buildings and roads.
I bet the people of Argentina are great to talk to. I learned some Spanish in High School, so I would be able to relearn by conversing with them as I toured.
Cordoba and Buenos Aires look like fun cities where one could find anything they might want.
All in all, I loved my virtual visit to Argentina. I am very proud to have had enough time free of pornography to go.

    Thanks,
    Al

Jeez I hate when that happens! It is so annoying when otherwise top notch travel filming gets ruined by garbage music. Or at least the wrong music for that situation.

Looks like you spent a bit of time in Patagonia! And probably a lot of money too since it is so pricey. But it is super popular with plenty of people willing to cough up the dough and brave the cold. Glad you enjoyed it.

Excellent report. Keep up the good work Alex. Travel Board Updated!!

I kicked off B's in style. The Bahamas look great. I'm going to make a goal of 100 days PM free and look into travel here for real as a reward.

I swam with wild pigs and walked on a beach with native wildlife. I went snuba diving without a tank so I didn't need to certify. I didn't want to stay at Atlantis but I paid for a day pass to visit their water park.

Great trip. It's nice to travel without interruption. It feels like a long time since I've made that happen.

It took me a little longer than planned but got another 10 ten days under my belt and made it to Andorra. Yeah!

What's not to love about a country who's only military spending is on fireworks? And has the highest life expectancy in the world?

Spent a week there hiking in the Pyrenees and taking photographs of the beautiful mountain scenery. On some days took the cable cars to the peaks and spent the day walking down, on others climbed up to a mid level height to walk around the mountain lakes and streams. It was lovely being there outside of their peak ski season and enjoy the more relaxed pace and peacefulness of the countryside.

This has been a hard-won journey to Afghanistan! I thought it would take me only 10 days, but instead, it took me 2 months! Based on Gef 71’s post back in July, I decided to watch a number of videos about backpacking in the Wakhan corridor and I’m glad I did: holy moly the Pamir Range is beautiful. I see why the locals call it the “roof of the world.” The places and routes seemed so otherworldly that it felt quite adventurous even watching the videos. I didn’t realize this was part of the Silk Road or that the region was safe (enough) for western travelers. In one of the videos, I watched a French and Australian couple drive through the Wakhan in a Defender. It was very entertaining to see how many new friends they made as kids jumped in the back for a very exciting ride! All the local folks seem quite friendly! Now I'm setting out on a journey to Albania praying it takes me only 10 days to reach my destination this time!

Three members leveling up on the same day! A historic moment here at the ATW Challenge! :emoji_airplane_departure:

I know exactly how you feel guys. As much as I like Burundi, I feel like I should be applying for permanent residency as long as I've been here. It feels good when you finally touch new ground, and know that it's been hard earned. Congratulations!

@GottaBFree, yeah, swimming with wild pigs is a trip. I did that too when I was there. Who knew there was such a thing.

That is so awesome! I am honored, and glad to see that you are doing so well.

@Zori, woah, fireworks comes under military spending in Andorra? I had no idea. I guess it makes sense. You could use them to blow the fingers off the enemy. @Ippolit, about the Wakhan Corridor, all I have to say is.. I know, right! It looks mind-blowing. I have a couple American friends who did it in real life, and they loved it.

  19. @discovery I'm soon leaving the forum. It may still take some time but I don't know yet.
So I want to say goodbye to you! This Challenge was really fun. Maybe I come back for another country travel, but I can't say for sure.
The Art Visualisation technique and the whole idea to use my imagination again (for something other than sexual fantasies) and let it flow and take me somewhere PLUS the combination with art - as a whole new approach to paintings ... all this was really an enrichment for me. It inspired me, it helped me, it relaxed me and I don't know what role will it play in the future, but I think there's much more in it for me, if I follow that path further.

Of course the idea of this Challenge here is also worth mentioning. I won't forget it. Well, but I wouldn't compare it to the AV lol

So long! Have a good time! Don't let porn or anything plague you. And thank you my friend!

Thank you icebreaker! I am sorry to see you leave. I will miss you. Thank you so much for being a part of this challenge and I'm so glad that the art visualization has helped you. Stay with it. In this challenge, once you are on the Travel Board you are there for life (unless you request to be removed). So if you ever choose to come back, just know that you can pick up exactly where you left off. I wish you the best of luck my friend. Stay safe over there in the Big D (Deutschland), and keep fighting the good fight!
