Hello people , Its my 16th day today and Im going pretty strong , My GF is going to visit me towards the end of the month ! I just fear having sex with her would trigger a relapse ?? What should I do , Its a long distance relationship and it will be pretty hard ( near impossible ) for me to abstain from sex when she's around ? I also feel that this amazing streak and feeling after years of trying might just disappear !! Help guys !!

  2. You'll probably get a range of opinions on this. So, when she shows up you'll be around 40-50 days. My first few months were like this. It was hard mode for long stretches, but there was a small amount of sex. No P or M. It worked out for me.

If you were asking about sex today, at Day 18, it might be a different answer. There's a real benefit to learning what happens to your system when you go for over 30 days without it.

You just have to be really vigilant in those few days after she leaves. Plan for the chaser effect so you can recognize it kicking in if happens. If it doesn't happen, well, that's good luck!

Learning to reintroduce sex is part of this process. In a way this could be a good test for you. It's actually harder if your partner is around all the time and you have to make these decisions week after week.

    Good luck, man.

    thanks a to
Thanks a ton dude for your reply !! I get the point . Please can you tell me more about the chaser effect ?

  4. When you experience O after abstaining for a long time, you might encounter a strong craving to follow up with more afterwards. That's what the chaser effect is referring to. Some guys aren't prepared for the intensity of this, and it derails them. They might use porn in this moment. If you know this could happen, you can prepare mentally in advance and take necessary precautions. Stay strong!

Does the chaser effect go away at a certain point? After a 90-day hard mode reboot, do i need to he as vigilant?

  6. Lots of good advice in this thread already so I wont add too much. I had sex on day 19 once. The chaser effect was too strong for me to cope with so I relapsed a few days after. It is something to be very aware of. Returning to a normal sex life is good. But having sex too early can damage your reboot. Rebooting with a partner is great as long as you keep yourself off porn. There is no timeline that works for all. 90 days is probably a good start if you can wait that long.

In my opinion, you should. This whole process is about building a healthy sex life with ourselves, right? Cutting out that which ruins it (PMO). No reason to abstain from the end goal then, yeah?
