I need a plan

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Oct 9, 2020.

  1. Hey friends,
7 months into nofap with a lot of learning but not much of a progress.
I believe that the reason is that I don't have a plan that Im truly believe in.
I mean, I've tried almost every tip and guide users offered me,
but it didn't last long for over one week.
The root of my addiction is compulsive so i if you respond i wish you'll address that.
    Blockers weren't helpful for me.
Right now I'm still exercising 3 times a week.
I tried a new approach recently; i don't count streak days. Just write my relapses on a pmo speardsheet (link in the signature).
I think it's the first time that i really gave up during this journy...:(

A proper plan is going to cost you,

Either 1000 dollars I will tell you my PayPal and then I will work very hard on a plan for you,

Your other choice, is to invest in it yourself. This takes a lot of hard work because you need to figure all this stuff out for yourself or else you might just create new unhealthy patterns.

If you think compulsive behavior is the root of your addiction,

You have to meta-analyze the pattern of thought>response that culminates in compulsive behavior, usually it is to alleviate a mental anxiety, like in your mind something has to happen and you can't escape the ominous feeling until it happens. So then if you wish to stop the compulsive behavior you have to identify the thoughts that begin the pattern.

What sorts of thoughts cause a mental state that leads to the unwanted behavior. Because now you need to make a strategy for dealing with these thoughts, a new way to respond to them, like to think ok for 20 years now I have been responding to this thought by doing this strange act, and it has never worked, I need to make a new response to this thought.

Do not give that guy any money bro, spend it in a real therapist in person if you want someone else's help.

Have you tried journaling? I currently use a page a day to write down my feeling and reflect on anything that might give me grief during my journey.

If writing isn't your thing you could try listening to some motivational speeches. As silly as it is but handy, I've got an Album on my phone titled "NOFAP" that has incredibly powerful speech for any moments of despair I may find myself in.

Also the NOFAP Emergency page (emergency.nofap.com) is great for a quick burst of willpower! I have this webpage saved as a shortcut on my phones homescreen.

Keep fighting brother. I believe in you. :emoji_muscle:

Good job on exercising three times a week. Maybe time to increase the days or difficulty per day? You have this one great habit and to possibly help you avoid your compulsion, try to make it a bigger focus. Or start a new habit and get it to 3 days a week like the exercise one.

Yes it is, and you maybe should.

I wasn't actually asking for your money bro, I was saying to spend it on a therapist. If "a plan" is what you really need.
I don't know. A lot of people just think "oh I just have this one problem it's porn if I could just quit that I'd be alpha forever". I'm really more of the school of thought that thinks addiction and compulsive behaviors are overt expressions of neuroses which are nearly impossible to address without help. Especially if you want the kind of help I was trying to bring to light yesterday when I posted. But I'm also a bit pissed that some cool guy is like "don't give him any money bro spend it on a therapist" like LOL that's what I was trying to tell you to do but ok.
