I haven't been taking this seriously.

I have a problem and I've been denying it. I've told myself I've gotten better and I've made progress. That may have been true at some point, but right now I'm back at square one. I have a particular genre that I am drawn too. I cannot seem to get away from it. It grosses me out but I always find myself there. I can stay away from it and convince myself that I'm over it, but I've never gotten over it. I fear I never will. I've tried to forgo the genre for regular stuff and thats worked at times, but I inevitably end up watching the genre. I thought I would get tired of it at some point but it's been years. I'm stuck and the only effective way to cut out the genre is to cut out P altogether. I need to stop lying to myself.

Yeap, that's how it works. Your brain is going for every substitute it can get once the dopamine flow from your favorite genre stoped - starting with the most related thing. You'll switch genres or media from vids to pics or to games, from rl porn to drawings/hentai/games/tiktok/holloywood movies - whatever, you name it - (quite literally). Your frontal cortex is just a servant to the limbic system at this point and it'll know, what to watch next. Your limbic system will enjoy that stuff and once it realizes, that it can get a similar kick there, you'll find yourself in the old patterns. But since it's not exactly the same and the old pathways still fire in the backgrouns as you watch the new genre and, well, it's just at tiny step back and you'll feel some urge to do so... [skip a few days] welcome back!

I guess, people are familiar with these mechanism since the begin of times. It's the old multi headed hydra-monster.

The solution is to rewire your brain to physical reality and away from the digital world and fantasy.

Enjoy nature. Be present in the real world. Socialize. And ultimately, have intimate bonding relationships.

Experience raw reality. Like sunshine, sounds of the city, the breeze, swimming, walking, the smell of a book, writing a journal, playing with your friends and so on.

Get offline. Stay away from TV, computers, video games and phones.

These are all simulations of reality and will never satiate you. They induce lust. We will never be satisfied by watching or viewing or interacting with a screen, no matter what it is. They will always make us crave more.

You need to spend vast majority of your life doing offline, productive activities and socializing and being physical and having fun in natural ways.

The internet is addictive. PMO is simply and escalation of internet addiction. So avoid internet-based lifestyles.

Return to the earth, to your community, to your family, to your culture, to your religion, to your traditions, etc.

Digital screens lead to hedonism and a lack of satisfaction in life. Find a way to enjoy natural games, like Chess, art, sports, martial arts, fishing and so on.

Once you realize that digital screens are the root of PMO addiction, you can begin to build a new life for yourself. And then your brain will truly start to heal and you will find satisfaction in everyday things - like breathing and moving. And then you will live according to your values and replace brain fog with brain illumination.
