Advice?

  1. Hi all, here's my scenario:

    Early twenty-something male, cut porn out about a month back. Still can't shake the wanking habit, but desperately want to for both religious and personal reasons. My doctor awhile back that I have a high testosterone balance. I sit around most of the day working remote, go to the gym almost every day.

    What's the best way to shake wanking after porn's cut out?
     
  2. As someone who'd still been using porn pretty regularly up to this point I'm not in the best position to answer your question, but I thought that while I'm here I'd leave my well-wishes for your road to recovery! My faith is very important to me as well.

    I guess one general place to start would be thinking about triggers. Are there any particular conditions or actions that usually go along with the habit?
     
  3. No triggers that I know of, really. I've cut social media out of lyfe and installed CovenantEyes to keep me accountable. Sometimes just get the urge, y'know. But so far, forcing myself to take cold showers and work out at night has helped alot.

  4. That's good! Taking that energy and directing it elsewhere, or honing your will through disciplinary practices.

    I definitely do know that sometimes you just get the urge. One thing I try is to just change what I'm doing at the moment, whatever it may be. If I'm at my desk doing homework I hop out and pace up and down the hall. If I'm washing the dishes I go sit on the couch and try to focus my mind for a moment.
