if you feel it’s a waste of time then by all means drop them. YouTube was once the closest thing to TV I’d watch. Due to time constraints and just loss of interest I think Iv widdled it down to make be 5 or6 channels I actually enjoy and watch every upload of. That’s not including ASMR I really dig that. Just avoid the ones that intentionally make it sexual

  2. Yes, I think it is a good idea to it. It prevents you from experiencing real life, and keeps you in some form of addiction.

Why so? Games are not the reason that you don't improve yourself. You can do it whenever you want. And if you like playing games you can keep doing that. But get some free time for reading books, learning something new. Combine it

  4. Honestly quitting video games was the best thing I could’ve done years ago

There's nothing wrong with playing video games, watching tv, listening to music, etc. HOWEVER, if they are in anyway triggering you to PMO or keeping you from the other things you should be doing, then it's good to stop. Personally, I would play video games full days and nights, and it would often lead to PMO.
I still play video games, but more in moderation. I consider them a reward for doing the stuff I should be doing first. I have tried to quit them cold turkey and it has not worked for me, so for now, I'm just slowly ramping down. One day I will stop completely.

I know that deep down that all forms of entertainment can easily be an escape from real life and the challenges you SHOULD be dealing with. Just like PMO.

I've thought about this, is it bad to play video games? I play FIFA but not on long ends, mabye 2 games. On the other hand there is other things that realease dopamine, a nice dinner, if you have som sugar, a drink etc.

I feel sometimes that the Nofap deprives every joy. That you basically cant do anythin for enjoyment. It feels like thats not a good life to live in the long run.

I've gone for periods of months without the playstation. Did me good, was able to concentrate on study and social life a lot more.

I think the instant gratification from games can slow down our recovery as well. It's not sexual, but it is an escape from reality...

Recently I packed my games away again. Because some noob kept kicking me from his server (yes I was following the rules). In an old game where I'm a 'veteran' and only a few hundred of us still play worldwide, that kind of pissed me off haha.

Anyways, I've found that after putting the controller down I'm a lot more productive, interested in socialising again, and better able to handle stressful stuff (in the real world).

Ps. I may plug it in down the track to find server owner and teabag like the good old days...

I had a weird thing before, sort of embarissing, but when i played FIFA and it went bad, i lost, got angry and frustrated, i often turned to PMO. So i knew that could be a trigger, however i've surpassed that now and it's no longer an issue. Just weird, but i guess it was the emotion it caused.

I think if you play video games all day and can't stop the answer is yes but if you can control your gameplay and you dont let it control your life I say there is nothing wrong with it.

    Moderation is key.

As a former video game addict, you should avid games as much as possible. The thing I noticed about this addiction is that I didn't had much contact from real life, I was experiencing an awkward silence with people because I had no interesting subject to talk about with many, and especially with women. I tried to avoid such silence but without success,
be interested in real life and you will be more likely interesting to others. Games serve as occasional entertainment, but to
be obsessive with them is a a recipe for disaster and a lonely life, so you have to be smart with your time

  12. From a old-time player, since i start nofap i quitted a lot videogames, indeed real life and books are better. But we should not deny that play games is really funny. i enjoy strategy games and rpg, but play videogames is not the same thing of 5-6 years ago, i lost hype on videogames and is not my first tought when i wake up. the only online game thqt i like to enjoy is Overwatch, really funny.

  13. It all depends on if you're addicted to them. For some reason, there is still a negative stigma surrounding video games. While they can be destructive if played an excess, I think they also have many positives as well. Many of my closest friends and I first bonded over our mutual love of video games. My fiancée and I also spend a lot of time gaming together. Games are a great source of entertainment and story telling.

As long as you don't solely focus all your time on them, then I don't think it's something you have to quit. Everything in moderation.

  14. You have complete control. I have the aspiration on not necessarily quitting video games but drastically lowering the game time. I did quit online gaming. Deuces to Xbox Live

  15. I was addicted to a video game a long time ago.

It is not a good outlet for someone in a streak.

They need to be working on their fitness and/or career.

And, I don't even think it was fun.

    “Should I Quit Video Games?”

No one can answer this but you. Christians deal with this type of questions a lot throughout their lives here on earth. So let me give you some wisdom from God and you will be well on your way.

Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

For Christians, our goal is to be conformed to the image of Christ, and to run this race, looking to Jesus Christ. Along the way, there will be things that will hinder us, even good things! So the question is not, “Should I quit ___”? The question is: What is your aim in life? What is your objective? What is your goal? What is it that you’re trying to accomplish? That is the first question you must ask and answer.

The second question is: Does what I’m doing hinder me from reaching that goal? Does it weight me down? Does it cling to me so closely, that I can’t run the race and endure?

Good thing can weight you down, good thing can hinder you from reaching your goal. And it’s all relative. What might hinder you might not hinder me. What weights you down might not weight me down. I have no problem using the Internet without any filter/blocker, but for the guy next to me, Internet might be a huge temptation and stumbling block for him.

So look within yourself, and be honest. Reflect. And lay aside EVERY WEIGHT that is holding you down. EVERY WEIGHT, even if it’s video game, even if it’s that food you’re eating, even if it’s that TV show you’re watching, if they’re weighting you down, seek to do something about it.

I see it similarly. Maybe I'm just conscious of how many hours I've spent on gaming alone, but I try to limit screen time more these days.
