Am I getting better?

    Hey, I've been on this forum for some time and recently I have been fighting my addiction on my own. I kept a journal on the forum too but the streaks lasted a month.


    I used to be a person that watched porn daily. Currently, I slip once or twice in a week and can easily get 10 day streaks. My life has been quite normal during the lockdown. Post-lockdown I've actually become more social than I previously was and most of my other issues (personality, work, family) have all began to get better thankfully.


    As of now, porn is the only real issue I am facing currently. As I have mentioned above, the situation has improved but not completely gone and I still have a tendency to go back to my old dirty habit.


    TELL ME WHAT TO DO FAPSTRONAUTS.


    i will most likely spend a lot of time here during no nut november too ^.^

    It sounds like you have a good thing running right now so congrats.

    You say the situation has improved but not completely gone. What exactly do you mean when you say that?

    for example if i slip on the weekend, i'll keep watching once daily until something like tuesday or wednesday and then again go back to my streak.

    such has been my journey for around the entirety of my lockdown and post lockdown journey

    With any habit or addiction it always helps to discover and understand WHY. Why do you slip specifically at the weekend? Why do you continue to watch through until the following week. Is it subconsciously a ritualistic habit that allows you to the end the week? Or are you simply bored and need something to do? Once you are able to answer this question 'breaking the spell' becomes easier.

    Once you have or understand your WHY you can begin to take steps to 'scale the wall' and move forward in your reboot. Your first step should be to aim to replace the habit. If you tend to relapse most Friday evenings, put yourself in a position in which you are unable to watch porn. You mentioned that you have become more social, so maybe find ways to be with or around others. Alternatively, head away from your usual resting place and find a change of scenery. The key point is to replace one habit (porn), with another habit (social life).

    Once you have gained some form of control over the urges, begin focusing on life outside of porn. Ask yourself what you want life to look like in the coming months, whether it be a new business, a period of travel, or a new woman in your life. By focusing on what you do want (an improved life) you will begin to lose focus on what you don't want (porn).

  8. Good to see another Oasis fan.

    It’s a hard one as we are all wired differently.

    For me, I’ve taken away my biggest trigger, my PC. So maybe look at what triggers you and take action in changing that pathway.

    i do the same for my urges. for me it's my phone so i can't really keep it closed for long periods of time.

    lets see how november goes. the first day was very tough. the 2nd, till now, has been easier
