    Hey guys,
first of all thank you for your existence!
I am new to this forum and just wanted to take a moment and acknowledge every single one of you.
In todays world where everything is so depressing and fast no-one takes a minute just to thank themselves. So here is a big THANK YOU to YOU for trying to be a better self and for helping ME.

Without further ado here is something I felt like sharing:
I have been abstinent for around 56 days now and 36 days ago I discovered something.

I am happily engaged and of course Porn was also a big topic in our lives and sexual relationship as a couple. After many discussions I found out than my SO had one significant issue which was honesty. She did not feel like she knew what was going on. How did I feel and how long since I last relapsed. Now that gave me an idea. Being a very technology oriented person I found an app that has helped me a lot since:
"Manhood". This app is not much at all, its just about tracking your goals and reminding you of your streak but it did 3. things for me and my relationship.

    1. I promised myself to be honest and to track my progress. Relapses and streaks. This felt good too because this way I knew I would be able to communicate without having to speak about it.

    2. My SO has the possibility to check this record out and see how it goes. To support me and to feel like we are honest with each other. Since she can ask for this anytime and I don't feel weird about this, it helps me a lot. It might feel to some as control but to be fair - it is not, it's more like a sponsor checking in on you. Trust me on that. If you are as lucky to be in an understanding and healthy relationship this will help!

    3. The name and display. Manhood is a weird name at first for such an app but when looking at it, it really helps. It's a good word for strength, health and everything I want to be. So that is a great source of inspiration right there and also anytime I get an urge I just check out the progress. Don't want to start again from the beginning and it feels great to see how far I came.

So this is it from me, let me know your thoughts and if you found this helpful!

  2. An accountability app? The idea is not that novel, but it's nice to share your positive experience with us.

That's cool man, I'm glad you found that app. I've never heard of it but it sounds interesting. I use Covenant Eyes myself, but any of those apps are really helpful for recovery.

It's awesome that you're trying to get past this before marriage. I drug my addiction straight into my marriage and caused so much trauma, we're still healing from it.

I use Fortify for similar reasons. Journaling every night helps - albeit I wish I wrote a big more each night. Still, the routine of starting each day and ending it with thoughts of recovery is a good habit.

Dang dude. Did you come up with that yourself? I've heard CSATs say the exact same thing. 12 step programs say to Journal every night what your day looked like and review them to see if you can notice patterns that you need to correct.

Well I see a CSAT and go to SAA meetings. So no, I didn't come up with it myself.
