I’m in! LOTR is my favorite movie and book series! I’m starting at day 6!

  6. Back to Day 0 for me. I relapsed earlier today.

I don't know why but it's always Day 5 that gets me. The urges were relentless right from the moment I woke up and I spent all morning peeking and teasing myself. My energy was so, so low. About 2:30pm I fully crossed over into the territory of pornographic gifs and couldn't resist the compulsion to masturbate anymore.

Afterwards, of course, I felt absolutely terrible. Part of my brain was churning out every excuse imaginable to stop feeling so bad, but the more rational part needed to let that feeling linger a bit and experience its full intensity. I don't intend to dwell on the negativity or my fall, but I need that memory as one of the weapons in my arsenal for when the urges return.

Restarting a streak is so discouraging when the first days seem to pass so slowly. I'm trying not to let my outlook get too pessimistic but I'm finding it difficult to be patient.

thank you so much for your words :emoji_heart:
you're totally right, I instantly felt better when I came clear to not only myself but the community
I couldn't really be happy with the last streak as it felt untrue.
I almost feel stronger now that I decided to be honest, cannot wait to climb out of the darkness again!

Thank you so much for being here for us :emoji_heartbeat:

I, too, am learning guitar. I play Rocksmith on Xbox and my stepson plays it on computer. We are improving on guitar and bass guitar quickly. I recommend it. It is a lot of fun too.

I have not, and I may pick up a copy to start reading it. How is it?

Day 44!! Take it day by day. You have to change your mindset. If you keep telling yourself that "it is okay" you are going to keep falling back. You need to commit and keep telling yourself "it is not okay." We got this! We can conquer this!

Day 75. "You face difficulties walking though the razor-sharp winding paths of Emyn Muil. A fallen brother named Gollum offers help and guidance. He doesn´t seem reliable but he knows the way out of the maze, so you decide to follow him."

Oh man, it is uncanny how the story line reflects my current path. I see that "fallen brother" as the primal me.

Don't get complacent with your regular relapses, brothers (and sisters). They must significantly increase each time. Regular relapsing is not actually rebooting. I have been given the hard truth many times, and it really hurts, but it is necessary to bring about perspective and growth.

I wish the Ring had never come to me.
I wish none of this had happened.

    Gandalf:
So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
