To be honest my preference is towards Anime. But Game of thrones , Lost and True detective S01 are A-class. On the other side , Naruto Shippuuden & Death Note are A-class.

Breaking bad!!! And impractical jokers... This show is the funniest thing I've seen

 

You're welcome. I mostly thrive in intelligent /phlisophical shows or animes or characters. For eg Yagami Light & L from Death Note , Tyrion & Littlefinger from GoT , Rust Cohle from True Det., Itachi , Madara and Tobi from Naruto Shippuuden, Sawyer , Ben and Daniel Faraday from Lost , Sheldon from BigBang , Sherlock , Patrick from Mentalist , House from House MD and Mads from Hannibal. These characters are the reason i watched the shows else i would't have.

Watchout for Rust in True Detective

Any suggestions regarding such intelligent characters inhabiting series are welcome.

 

South Park is actually underrated in the life lessons department. "The List" is one of the episodes that inspired me to play music. It also gave me the confidence to accept myself for who I am rather than the person everyone would like me to be.

There's always an underlying message in South Park. But it never takes itself too seriously either. For example, a season might have a real emotional tear-jerker but also feature an episode about about Hilary Clinton's twat. Absurdity and novelty juxtaposed with depth.

 

I second(/third?) Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and South Park. And yes, South Park does have a lot of good underlying messages. "You know, I learned something today... family isn't about whose blood you have. It's about who you care about." (One simple example.)

Just be careful of nudity in Game of Thornes.

I also would recommend House of Cards, and 24.

House of Cards, 24, and Breaking Bad can be pretty motivational, in that the lead characters get shit done. They're very effective. What makes it interesting is the moral ambiguity of their methods. If everyone took Frank or Walt's discipline and applied it absolute goods (like Jack Bauer arguably does), the world would be a much better place.

As for unmentioned comedies, I like Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, and Veep.

 

As Evitisop already mentioned, Mr. Robot is an awesome new show.

True Detective was awesome too, the first episode of season 2 kind of bombed, really did not do well with critics but it may get much better, gonna check it out tonight.

Oh ya, and Fargo. Can't wait for season 2, such an addicting crack-like show, recommend with organic fair trade dark chocolate and organic botanical soda or coffee to get a nice lil buzz goin on to boost the dopamine rush while watching.

Ya man I binge watched the first season of True Detective, just too good! It was on the IMDb and rotten tomatoes binge watch recommendation lists, this type of binging is condoned after all.

I only watched the first season of GoT then lost interest. Lol I also quit drinking wine after season 1 and it didn't help that I couldn't drink a goblet of wine along with watching Peter Dinklage suck down a goblet on screen hahaha, I also didn't read the books so the story was not very easy to follow...my friend read the books in anticipation for the show and loves it. He is also a nerd and when I went out to eat with him and another friend a few days ago he was wearing a shirt that read "Today was a good day until I realized I don't own a dragon."

 

I can't watch anything after Breaking Bad now it was too good!

Any Community or Parks and Recreation fans here?

I enjoyed the first season of Better Call Saul more than BB. You watch it? There are going to be BB tie-ins in the coming seasons.

Rather than start a new thread as I was in the mood for some new shows to watch, this one seems worthy enough to bump and continue on with....

Anyone watch Documentary Now! or The Man in the High Castle pilot yet? If so no spoilers please, but I am about to start these tonight they both have rave reviews and look well made.
