Yeah, in a way it kind of misses the whole point about healing sex addiction which is not just about abstaining for a month.
But I guess it can at least be an intro into NoFap for some who could otherwise never hear about it.

Yeah it could, but its basically a meme where people just often use contradictory images such as ''oh not masturbating causes higher risk of prostate cancer'' and stuff like that, which demotivates anyone who's starting, due to the fact of the people who post about it are indeed not doing it neither support it a little bit.

Eh it depends, outside of here got a buddy who is doing the NNN. Maybe he sees the benefit of doing it for another month and so on, maybe he doesn’t. Any kind of exposure helps imo

NNN ia a way to get at least 30 days should one complete the journey. If 30 days can be accomplished, why not attempt 60 days as the next milestone? It's a proof that extended abstinence can be achieved.

  12. It's like saying that tik tok sucks for letting people explore all kinds of memes and music. NNN is just another way how to get deeper in nofap or open nofap for yourself.

  15. I can see your point. But I do not agree.
    Let me explain mine.
No Nut November literally means I am not going to relapse this month.
    That's it.
It's just a challenge for many people. That after november as said will do the "DDD".
But as @IGY said, that's not the rule. You can do whatever you want.
But in here where I live we have a say, that I guess exist everywhere, and it goes like
"It does not exist bad publicity, it exists only publicity".
In your opinion it is just a stupid challenge. And that's cool, opinions are cool because all of us has his own.
To me it is just another way to make know this way of life.
You have a wonderful streak. Amazing.
More than 1000 days. It is seriously impressive, my sincere compliments.
But do not forget you started from 0 as well. Like everybody else.
At day 0 the important thing is to start.
Is it really important if you started for NNN or for a lifetime?
Isn't the beauty of internet that the forum can grow and show support to the newcomers to help them succeed and reach the wonderful streak you have?
We're not elite my friend. There's no entry screening process.
We are a forum of equal people.
And if for 1000000 people that will try Nofap in november.
Even 1, even just 1, will have urges after only 3 days and relapse, will look to the mirror and say "maybe I have a problem",and will join us in the path giving his best.
Well, to me NNN will be the greatest challenge ever created.

Because yes, I do agree NNN is not the perfect challenge to make people join Nofap.
But just because it's not perfect does not mean it is not worth.
Remember that everything worth doing is worth doing badly.

P.s. Sorry if it is too long, wanted just to show my point the clearest way I could :), and not let pass the idea I am criticizing you or anything because that's the thing I do not want to do :)

That is why one has to look at every goal here not as an ending point, but only as an opened-door threshold to the next level of recovery. When one holds a goal as an end point, yes, one will drop the very next day in anticipated exhaustion. Hence, don't set your expectations to think of end point, but only as portals through which to pass onto newer horizons still.

I used to have this mindset with alcohol. I would abstain for lent and look forward to the day when i was 'allowed' to drink again.

I had best results when i attempted to quit with the intention of never starting again, knowing the option to use was there for me to choose to drink or not, and solely focusing on each sober day, not worry about tomorrow, not having a time limit on my abstinence, and living in the moment.

Ha! I didn't mention it, but it was precisely with "Lent" that I learned this lesson. Most Lents I could not even make it through the 40 days (with MO abstinence), but one Lent I did, but I immediately came crashing on Easter because I had inadvertently set myself up in terms of a finish line. I've since learned not to do that. Then, as far as New Year's, a quite different scenario, I'm not sure what exactly is going on with annual resolutions. Perhaps the field of view ahead is too open ended and ambiguous and we're probably never psychologically ready for a lifetime commitment all at once. It's for these polar reasons that I set up a timeline above my signature clock with easily obtainable incremental goals (which are portal thresholds, not end points). Each threshold achieved serves as its own operant conditioning reward, and the timeline will naturally evolve and extend through meaningful days and newer counting points as well, even through the 1-year mark and then beyond.
