Music is cheating. We are surrounded by Music we listen to it every where anytime.
We use it for motivation...but you know...music cannot be present all the times and in the worst moment there is no musics.
Don t get motivation from external sources but from inside!!!
    Music as motivation is cheating
    Get silence

@Kurushimi This is some very wise information, my friend. It is hard to fathom at the surface, but once you get past the fear of the lost tn becomes an unwavering truth.

I never can't to take my motivation from music. Many songs inspired me, it's true, but to listen a song thinking to motivate you to do something is a bullshit. It's not able for me.

Music can be a great motivator to push for that extra mile. As you said it yourself ''music cannot be present all the times and in the worst moment there is no musics'', it also means it can be present whenever you want to. Music unites people, make you feel good and laugh. Just find the balance that works for yourself, you do not need to get rid of it completely. But try it out for yourself and decide on your own future experience.

@hollyman That sex song is your brain's entry way to dopamine related to sex. You can't wrestle with it. If you hear it, breathe deeply and start playing another song in your head. This must happen over and over again until success.

Music can be a dopamine source in general. Cutting out music will help in a dopamine detox, I believe. To get dopamine without any external stimuli will mean that you are the farthest away from P addiction and your mind is completely sound.

  8. That is why I listen to metal.

In general, I love music because it' s like a mantra. What you sing along to, what you let in your brain for long enough becomes reality. Subconcious power.

Ever heard about the fact that we are supposed to listen to 432hz music while we are forced to listen to 440hz music?

Are you avoiding music in general because is everywhere everytime or are you avoiding music that you used to listen when you needed motivation?

  12. Yeah the silence pill is based. It can be very tough at first to live without digital sound, but it can be kind of meditative. What I've noticed that listening to music/podcasts/internet sounds takes my mind away from my internal thoughts and causes me to focus on external things. This is not bad 100% of the time, but sometimes we cope with our internal thoughts by ignoring them in favor of other stimuli. By removing these stimuli we might be able to come to terms with our own feelings, which is very important for recovery.

I get your points, but what about overthinking guys like me? Don't you think that in my case music might be beneficial?

Maybe someone new needs motivational music and videos for the mean time. They should eventually learn to continue without the external motivations though.

I do listen music. And I can say that helps. The fact is that every time I need to do something I ll put some music on for pushing myself. I am realising that I am weak. I need to develope my motivation.

I wouldn't say its a problem to use music to derive motivation. If it helps you achieve greatness then go for it. I can understand how music might fit into the same category as other menial activities like video games, but i've recently changed my mind on music based off of this https://twitter.com/KanganaTeam/status/1321824683692445698?s=20 Its quite mystifying seeing sound as a healing aspect and tool and i think it can definitely be used for good.

Great observation my friend, it's cheating the reality and I feel like I'm in a fake bubble whenever I run it, but for me in the meantime, I can't quit music and PMO all together, I'm going to use music to quit porn but you gotta be picky and then get rid of it .

It is rather extreme to even consider removing music from your life. To what end would we do this? I feel like music can give me peace and make me happy so I will gladly continue listening to it.

Interesting. I've observed that music helps me push past the limits during workout. Or reaffirm my resolve at times.

Music can be used to direct us towards what we desire to feel, to take us from the clamor of thoughts into the space of awareness. What you think?
