Suprised they went against pornhub to be honest.

I am not a big fan of the New York times but maybe a mainstream media outlet coming out against porn will bring more awareness to the major consequences porn can have.

Maybe more people will start taking porn addiction a bit more seriously and we can form more mainstream support groups to help people to deal with their addictions.

I know we have online forums but sometimes this is not enough for some people and sexaholics anonymous is a totally different addiction in my opinion.

This was my comment on the topic:

Porn is a major scourge in 2020; sites dedicated to that genre, generally "sharing" sites like Pornhub, represent around 1/3 of all internet content. The dangerous and illegal trade in child porn has been prosecuted at a far lower rate during the Trump years for whatever reasons. The human body is not fully developed until girls and guys are in their 20s so why isn't that used as a proper standard of acceptable ages for at what age they can be shown? It is time that porn be examined in terms of social value and effect. I have heard boys in their mid teens say that all of their peers have a porn addiction. That is a really scary thing to hear. We prize quality education for our youth, however threats to that development are not being taken seriously enough. Addictions to screens and modern entertainment in general are bad enough; porn is particularly addictive and socially distorting in terms of all relationships. Once again unregulated business activity and those who claim that local control only, are the problem. A trade that crosses all types of geographical boundaries needs to be heavily regulated with hefty penalties for those who break common sense rules.

I honestly wonder if this is a ploy to lower the stock price for Pornhub. Every porn sites have the kind of videos the New York Times are vilifying Pornhub for and yet they are only targeting Pornhub right now.

Maybe people from New York Times and Wall street have stocks in other porn sites so decided to publish negative press for Pornhub.

Maybe I just find it oddly strange. I mean why now and why just go after one site I mean I know they are the most popular but to completely fix the problem they need to target all of them.

Xvideos and Xhamster are popular in their own right and they have the exact same content as pornhub so it just seems weird that they only mentioned pornhub in their report and not any other websites.

I could be way of base and too be honest I really don't feel like researching this to much because it won't do me any good but I guess it's a good thing at the very least that they are targeting the most popular porn site right now.
