Ok @Fighter_4_life , I can say that I have been here and the best thing that always used to work for me is similar to what we do in this forum. Me and my friends would teach each other as a part of group studies and that works much better than a teacher teaching us in the class. Just try to go one topic at a time and once you complete learning a topic from a friend or teach it to a friend of yours, revise it ASAP as that helps in reinforcing what you have learnt while it's fresh. I'm still figuring out how to DM or send a message directly in the inbox if you don't wish to comment on the forum. Also, one good way to keep your chin up when you don't fare well is the patronus charm. Remembering all the happy memories and keep rewarding yourself with a small treat once you complete topics. Start with something that you hate the least and pour your heart into that topic. Take small steps and keep a small study group (max 3-4 people). It keeps you under control and you like contributing to the good of the group also. Also, less time to brood over if you are with other people. If COVID is making it difficult to do it together, keep hourly calls to check each others' progress. A little procrastination is unavoidable and OK. Don't worry, just try and brush the initial inertia aside and you will feel really confident once you start moving forward

But most importantly, it helps to remember that this is just a temporary phase, not the end of life itself. If nothing works, take a day off and do something that you love - I used to read Harry Potter or any other fictional book to take a break, cook some food i liked and by the end of the day had a really good sleep to begin the next day on a bright note. You are strong! You can do it. Don't worry about it.

Don't think about the next life whilst you are living this one. Each life has enough of its own problems and challenges.

Finals week in school and 4 papers due so sort of glued to the computer and fairly stressed. Have been in a good groove with my work right now which is good. Yesterday was a good spook and a friend came over right before I was about to snap (she asked if she should come over or not, and I knew that having someone there would keep me from caving all the way). Better headspace today on Day 20! One more week of finals and then a cool winter break to use to my advantage before I am back into a school schedule.

Hey guys. Day 7 here and back to Uruk-Hai.

So here's what happened this weekend that helped w/ some perspective about PMO.

I went on my date. Hottest girl I've probably been out with. Didn't go so well. She was polite but left pretty abruptly after one drink.

This in itself is not bothering me much. It happens. But what went wrong? I think at least a couple things that are effects of porn use.

For one, I was nervous, since I was taken aback when she was more attractive than I was expecting and I wasn't able to get back on the horse. I was fidgety, very self-conscious about my posture, which I kept awkwardly shifting at the table. For another thing, I made a couple awkward "fumbles" in conversation, i.e., failing to recognize and take hold of natural breaks in her conversation to follow up with a natural question or comment. I was tired and thus not very engaging.

I can't help but wonder: how might my social performance have been better had I said no to that urge last week? Might still have gotten rejected, but I bet I'd at least have turned in a better effort. It's not like I've never talked to a hot chick before, after all, and I know how to have a successful first date.

So, really this is a win because it reminded me of the costs of PMO.

Just thought I'd share. Hope it's helpful to someone besides me.

    Day 20,

Major slip yesterday but back on my feet today. Urges hit hard with finals and time crunch. Had a friend come over and keep me company last night which kept me from resetting and possibly relapsing last night. Many meditations and a cold shower today to keep myself in check since there is no other option other than being infront of the computer now.

On the finals grind real hard now!

    Best wishes to all!

  13. Day 1 complete.

@Onan the Barbarian Thanks for telling us, brother. Bummer about the date but I think you put the best possible spin on it you could. You'll get this PMO stuff under control and you'll be ready next time, eh?
